Clothing is removable: a moss-green sweater dress with ribbed collar/cuffs and an A-line skirt sprinkled with textured bobbles; pumpkin beanie with ribbed brim and short leafy stem; pumpkin boots with contrast laces. Accessories: crossbody postie bag (envelope-style) decorated with mini “stamps” plus two tiny letters with wax seals. Clothing & Accessories

Moss-Green Bobble Sweater Dress (yarn B, US 4)

This is a one-piece dress with ribbed collar and cuffs, smooth stockinette through the yoke, and an A-line skirt dotted with bobbles. Length stops just above the orange boots.

Neck & Yoke (worked top-down in the round):
CO 56 sts, join, pm for beg.
Rnd 1–8: k1, p1 rib (snug turtleneck-style collar).
Rnd 9 (inc): k6, kfb × 8 (→ 64 sts).
Rnd 10: k.
Rnd 11 (raglan-style inc without seams): place 4 markers equally around; on this rnd m1L after each marker and m1R before each marker (total +8 → 72 sts).
Rnd 12: k.
Rnd 13: repeat raglan incs (+8 → 80 sts).
Rnd 14–16: k even.
Separate sleeves: transfer 14 sts for each sleeve to waste yarn; CO 2 sts under each arm; knit across body sts (→ 54 body sts).

Body (straight section):
Rnd 1–6: k even.
Rnd 7 (A-line inc): k8, kfb around (randomize so increases avoid vertical lines) (→ 60 sts).
Rnd 8–10: k.

Bobble Skirt Section:
Work the following 8-rnd repeat until the skirt measures 2.75–3 in from underarm:

  • Rnd A: k9, bbl5; repeat around (space your bobbles so they stagger between repeats).
  • Rnd B–C: k.
  • Rnd D: k10, bbl5; repeat.
  • Rnd E–F: k.
  • Rnd G (shaping): k10, kfb around (+6 → 66 sts).
  • Rnd H: k.

Repeat the 8-rnd sequence once more, keeping bobbles offset so they appear scattered, not in columns.
Finish with 2 rnds k, then work garter trim in the round (Rnd 1 p, Rnd 2 k, Rnd 3 p, Rnd 4 k) to match the photo’s firm hem. BO loosely.

Sleeves (each worked in the round):
Return 14 held sts to needles, pick up 4 sts across the underarm (→ 18 sts).
Rnd 1–10: k even for slim sleeve.
Rnd 11–14: k1, p1 rib for cuffs. BO in rib.
Weave all ends. Try the dress on the bunny; fit should be comfortable and slightly relaxed at the skirt with dense bobbles.

Pumpkin Beanie with Stem (yarns C & D, US 4)

A round orange beanie with deep rib and a short green stem centered, worn between the ears.

Brim:
With C, CO 72 sts, join.
Rnd 1–10: k2, p2 rib (thick, foldable brim).

Crown:
Rnd 11: k5, kfb × 12 (→ 84 sts).
Rnd 12–18: k even for smooth pumpkin “ribs.”
Rnd 19: k5, k2tog × 12 (→ 72).
Rnd 21: k4, k2tog × 12 (→ 60).
Rnd 23: k3, k2tog × 12 (→ 48).
Rnd 25: k2, k2tog × 12 (→ 36).
Rnd 27: k1, k2tog × 12 (→ 24).
Rnd 29: k2tog × 12 (→ 12).

Switch to D (leaf green). Work an i-cord on 3 sts for 6 rows, BO. Pull the 12 orange sts tight; secure; stitch the green stem in the center. Seat the beanie so the ribbed brim sits low and the stem points straight up.

Pumpkin Boots with Laces (yarns C for tops, A/F for soles & laces, US 4)

Soles (flat, tan or oatmeal):
CO 8 sts.
Row 1: kfb, k6, kfb (10).
Row 2: p.
Row 3: kfb, k8, kfb (12).
Row 4: p.
Row 5: kfb, k10, kfb (14).
Row 6: BO knitwise.

Uppers (in the round):
Pick up 34 sts evenly around the sole with C; join.
Rnd 1–2: k.
Rnd 3: k7, k2tog × 4 (→ 30).
Rnd 4–6: k.
Rnd 7 (instep taper): k9, (k2tog) × 6, k9 (→ 24).
Rnd 8–10: k.
Rnd 11–14: k1, p1 rib for a cuff that folds. BO in rib.
Laces: Make a 2-st i-cord ~6″ in A or light tan for each boot; thread through two sewn eyelets and tie bows. Duplicate stitch a tiny yellow star near the outer toe of the right boot to match the photo.

Crossbody Postie Bag (yarn E with F accents, US 4)

Body (worked flat):
CO 18 sts.
Rows 1–22: stockinette with 1-st garter selvedge each side (sl1 wyif on WS). Piece should measure ~2.5 in.
Fold lower 2/3 upward to form pocket; mattress-stitch sides.

Flap:
Pick up 18 sts along top edge.
Row 1 k. Row 2 p.
Row 3 (shaping): ssk, k to last 2, k2tog (dec 2).
Repeat Row 3 every RS until 6 sts remain.
Next WS p.
Next RS: k2tog, k2, ssk (→ 4). BO. The flap’s rounded triangle mirrors the photo.

Strap:
With E, work i-cord 3 sts × 70 rows (~12–13″). Sew to the back corners so strap runs diagonally across the body.

Stamps & Seal:
Using F, duplicate-stitch two small squares on the flap (one blue-tinted if you like, one red), and one round “seal” spot on the bag front. Outline with a single backstitch if desired. Add a tiny snap under the flap if you want it functional.

📌Thank you for reading the article.

Mini Letters with Wax Seals (yarns E & F, US 4)

Each letter:
CO 8 sts in E; knit 8 rows garter to make a square. BO. Fold in thirds like a note; stitch sides invisibly. Duplicate stitch a red circular seal in F on the outside. Make two letters—one sized to slip into the bunny’s paw and one to lie near the boots.

Assembly

  1. Stabilize Head: After closing the head, run two anchoring stitches from the back of head into the upper torso to keep the head upright.
  2. Attach Ears: Curve ear bases and sew so they angle slightly forward; spacing leaves a gap for the beanie.
  3. Arms: Mattress stitch arms to the body so cuffs sit just below the yoke line of the dress.
  4. Dress On: Slide the dress over the head first; ease collar gently. The skirt should flare, with bobbles distributed across the front like in the photo.
  5. Boots & Laces: Slip on boots; tie neat bows centered over the tongue.
  6. Beanie: Fold the rib brim if needed; position stem centered and vertical.
  7. Bag & Letters: Sling strap across from right shoulder to left hip. Tuck one letter under an arm and place the second by the bunny’s feet for display.

Finishing & Styling Tips

  • Fabric firmness: Keep the bunny gauge tight (8 sts/in) to prevent stuffing show-through and maintain crisp stitch definition visible in the photo.
  • Bobble neatness: When working bbl5, snug the passes firmly so bobbles sit rounded and consistent. If your yarn blooms a lot, reduce to bbl3 (k1, yo, k1; p3; k3; pass 2 over 1) for similar size.
  • A-line control: If your skirt pulls in under the bobble weight, add one extra increase round before the final garter trim.
  • Color matching: Choose a rich pumpkin orange and muted moss green for the authentic palette; beige body yarn with a hint of heathering mimics the natural fur effect.
  • Photo accuracy: Keep the beanie brim deeper in front; boots show a thick tan sole with orange uppers; bag sits slightly forward on the hip with the flap’s point facing down.
  • Safety: If gifting to a child, embroider eyes instead of using safety eyes and avoid snaps/wire.
