Construction Overview

The bunny is knit mostly in the round and seamed minimally. Head, body, and legs are worked top-down as separate tubes then joined; arms are knit separately and sewn on at the raglan line. Ears are knit flat for crisp edges and sewn to the head after placement. Clothing and accessories are removable: a pink pinafore with polka dots over a short-sleeve ivory blouse, a cream beret topped with a knit strawberry, and pink Mary Janes with tiny buttons. Extra accessories include a strawberry crossbody, a cookie coin purse, and a milkshake with a striped straw.

Assembly

  1. Stuffing & Balance
Ensure head and body are firmly stuffed with no dimples. A small weighted pouch inside the lower belly improves stability.
  2. Attach Arms
Try blouse on, then stitch arms to body right below the raglan line so the sleeve caps sit naturally.
  3. Ears
Position ears centered on the crown, about 6 sts apart at the base, angled forward 15°. Whipstitch invisibly.
  4. Dress
Slip the skirt up to waist. Fold waistband’s purl ridge inward and tack to inside to form a smooth band. Sew bib and cross straps at the back. Embroider brown dots on the dress and bib after assembly for accurate placement.
  5. Shoes
Slide on feet; secure strap with a tiny pearl button (or stitch permanently if gifting to a child under 3).
  6. Accessories
Drape the strawberry crossbody diagonally across the torso; sit the cookie purse at left paw; place milkshake in right paw and tack with a couple of stitches so it stays upright.
  7. Finishing Touches
Embroider a simple mouth: a small V with a tiny split for the smile center. Optionally add a faint blush with a tiny bit of pink yarn brushed in. Place the beret forward so the strawberry sits centered.

Tips for Ultra-Real Knit Texture

  • Use tightly twisted DK yarn (mercerized cotton or smooth wool blend) to show every stitch.
  • Knit slightly tighter than normal; avoid laddering at DPN joins by using magic loop or shifting the gap each rnd.
  • For the polka dots and seeds, duplicate stitch after blocking to keep edges crisp and photo-real.
  • Light steam block clothing pieces before dressing the bunny to smooth hems and ruffles without collapsing the plush.

Troubleshooting & Adjustments

  • Head too pointy at top: Add one extra even rnd between rnds 6–7.
  • Beret rides high: Work two extra even rnds before crown decreases.
  • Skirt not flouncy enough: Increase CO to 156 and keep the rest proportional (add 2 more repeats in decrease rounds).
  • Shoes slipping: Thread a little elastic through the upper edge before sewing the strap button.

Care & Safety Notes

  • Secure all accessories for small children by stitching permanently; replace beads with embroidered knots if the toy is for ages under 3.
  • Hand wash cool, reshape, and dry flat. Store beret stuffed with tissue to keep its curve.

Recap
