Latte Cup with Whipped Cream (caramel + cream, US 2.5)

Cup Body (caramel)

Rnds 1–6: K for straight sides.
Rnd 7: P around (cup ridge).

Rnd 2: (K1, yo, K1) around to create soft swirls.

Stuff very lightly; draw closed and set on cup so it domes.
Tiny display mug: repeat with 12 CO and only 4 rnds tall; add a tiny stitched “button” dot on the side to echo the table prop.

Assembly

  1. Sew legs to body base, toes turned slightly outward for stability.
  2. Attach arms at shoulder line so the right hand can present the latte and the left can rest near the tote strap (or hang naturally).
  3. Ears: whipstitch along head curve with a forward tilt.
  4. Dress order: mock-turtleneck → skirt → jacket → shoes → beret.
  5. Sew or tack maple leaves: one on skirt lower front, one on beret’s left side; keep edges slightly raised for a real-felt look.
  6. Hang tote from left shoulder; place latte mug in the right paw with 1–2 invisible tacking stitches if displaying. Set the tiny mug on the table near the right foot.

Finishing & Styling

  • Stitch definition: Use the tighter gauge on the toy (US 2.5) for crisp, realistic stitches; garments on US 4 give soft drape—exactly the look in the photo.
  • Blocking: Light steam only; smooth the jacket fronts and the skirt ribs vertically so the leaf appliqué sits flat.
  • Beret fit: If loose, work the band with 68 sts instead of 72 or run a thread of clear elastic through the rib.
  • Shoe security: Add a tiny stitch at each heel to keep bows centered.
  • Display: Style on a wooden table sprinkled with autumn leaves and warm natural light for the cozy maple-latte mood.

Troubleshooting

  • Skirt rides up: Add 8 sts at CO (multiple of 6) and keep the K4/P2 rib; or work 2 extra rounds before the waistband fold ridge.
  • Jacket gapes: Move button ¼” inward or add a hidden snap; for all-yarn option, sew a small bobble as a button.
  • Tote too floppy: Thread a spare i-cord or fishing line through the rim for structure (remove for child-safe gifting).
  • Cup tilts: Hide a small washer in the base or stitch the bottom to the hand.

Recap

This pattern produces the exact Maple Latte Bunny shown: oatmeal bunny with forward-tipped ears, pumpkin beret with maple leaf, honey cropped jacket over a cream mock-turtleneck, ribbed maple skirt with leaf, pumpkin bow shoes, cream tote with leaf, and a latte cup crowned with soft whipped cream—plus a tiny extra mug for the tabletop scene. Enjoy your cozy autumn friend!
