ASSEMBLY

  4. Tail: Sew to back at body Rnd 8–9, pointing slightly downward.
  5. Shoes: Slide on and close straps with the button dots.
  6. Chef hat: Place above ears; secure with a few hidden stitches if gifting.

FINISHING TOUCHES (Match the Photo Look)

  • Place eyes 7 sts apart for a soft, wide-eyed expression.
  • Keep ears slightly forward-tilted and flat for a classic mouse silhouette.
  • Add a hint of blush on cheeks; a tiny pink nose and a single stitch smile.
  • The apron should sit flat across the dress; gently steam-block the lower corners if they curl.
  • Basket handle arches low and natural—lightly curve with your fingers; if you used twine core it will hold shape beautifully.
  • Pose mouse on a wooden table beside the mini scale and flour sack; establish a warm pastel, natural-light vibe.

Troubleshooting & Adjustments

  • Height variance: If your mouse turns out taller/shorter, check gauge; tighten to 2.25–2.5 mm for denser fabric.
  • Standing stability: Pack extra stuffing at hips and feet; you can also place a coin inside each shoe sole under a felt insole for weight.
  • Chef hat slipping: Make the band one row shorter, or add two invisible stitches to anchor behind the ears.
  • Apron riding up: Add a hidden thread tack at each side seam of the dress.

Care & Safety

  • For young children, embroider eyes and stitch accessories permanently.
  • Hand-wash cold, reshape, and dry flat away from direct heat. Avoid heavy pressing.

Quick Build Checklist

  1. Crochet head, muzzle, ears, body, arms, legs, tail.
  2. Work dress, apron, chef hat, shoes.
  3. Assemble: head → body, arms, tail; dress the mouse.
  4. Make pouch, basket + pie, flour sack, rolling pin, scale, and pie slice charm.
