ASSEMBLY
Legs → Body
Pin legs to body base so feet point slightly outward. Stitch flat leg tops to Body Rnds 2–3. Keep spacing even so the pig stands balanced.
Body → Head
Center head over neck opening. Ladder stitch Body Rnd 20 to Head Rnd 19; add a touch more stuffing under the “chin” before closing to keep the face upright.
Snout, Eyes, Ears
- Position the snout centered, its top edge touching between the eyes. Whipstitch around; puff a tiny bit of stuffing under the last few stitches.
- Embroider a short mouth curve with a single strand of A or H just below the snout.
- Fold each ear base and attach symmetrically about 6–7 sts back from crown center so the ears tilt gently outward.
Arms & Tail
- Sew arms at the shoulder line with a mild forward angle so the right hand can hold the umbrella.
- Attach the curled tail at center lower back.
DRESSING
- Slip the loafers onto feet.
- Pull the sweater on from the feet upward; align neckline centered and seat the hem just below Body Rnd 11.
- Step into the culottes; settle the join at the true center back and fold hems up once along the FLO ridge.
- Place beret so the band hugs above the ears; tack with a hidden stitch if needed.
- Cross the pouch strap from right shoulder to left hip (as viewed); tack at shoulder and hip to prevent slipping.
- Anchor the umbrella hook into the right hand with 2–3 invisible stitches; the tip points upward, canopy slightly forward like in the window scene.
FINISHING & DETAILING
- Brows: embroider a tiny, soft brow on the left and a faint curved smile at one corner to match the gentle expression.
- Sweater texture: if you want a more ribbed look like a real knit, run sparse vertical surface backstitches every 3–4 sts on the torso only.
- Culotte waist: a hidden elastic thread can be woven through the top round if you prefer removable clothing.
- Photo polish: snip stray fibers lightly; do not over-brush—natural yarn halo keeps stitches realistic.
Troubleshooting
- Neck wobble: reopen a few ladder stitches and add stuffing; make a second seam pass.
- Tight sleeves: increase the pick-up count to 20 sts and work one extra rnd straight.
- Culottes too roomy: on the yoke shaping reduce 2 more sts on Rnd 6 (work one extra dec).
- Beret riding high: add one more straight round before the band; or steam lightly and pin to set shape.
- Umbrella floppy: block canopy over a small bowl; if using wire inside the handle, cap both ends with glue or yarn balls for safety.
Pattern Notes for Accuracy
- Proportions mirror the photo: head larger than torso, rounded cheeks, compact body; legs short with loafers visible; sweater sits just at hip and sleeves end at wrist; culottes fall mid-calf with rolled hems; beret has a low crown and small stem.
- Color placements: dusty-teal sweater & beret, gray culottes, brown loafers with beige sole edge, mint/aqua pouch edged in sea-mist with a navy/teal raindrop.
- Accessory orientation: pouch strap runs left-to-right across the chest; umbrella in right hand near a rain-dotted window scene.
