Construction Overview

The bunny is worked bottom-up in the round: legs → join for body → neck → head. Arms, ears, tail are knit separately and sewn on. Clothing/accessories are removable: mint daisy dress with scalloped hem, ivory cropped cardigan with Peter Pan collar, green sun hat with a daisy band, mint Mary Janes, wicker-look basket of daisies, and a tiny mint teacup. All shapes and placements match the photo styling: cardigan open with one button, brimmed hat low over the ears, basket in left paw and cup in right paw.

Mint Daisy Dress

Notes & Look: sleeveless mint dress, waist seam implied by cardigan, scattered white daisies with yellow centers across the skirt, a subtle daisy chain near the hem, and a scalloped mint hem. Flowers are added in duplicate stitch and tiny surface embroidery after knitting for print-like clarity.

Bodice (worked in the round, top-down)
With CC1 (mint), CO 64 sts; join without twisting; pm at CB.
Rnds 1–4: 1×1 rib.
Rnds 5–8: k (smooth waist-height bodice).

Daisy Chain Border (mint + yellow)

Rnd 26 (chain buds): (k3, [k1 in CC1 through front, then yo in CC5, then k1 CC1] over next 3 sts, k3) repeat — this makes tiny yellow “buds” between greens.

Scalloped Hem (mint)
Switch to CC1 only.
Rnd A: k5, kfb rep around (+?).
Rnd B: k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k2 rep.
Rnd C–D: k 2 rnds even. BO loosely to allow scallops to relax.

Daisies on Skirt (after knitting)
Using CC4 (white), duplicate-stitch simple five-petal daisies evenly spaced in vertical columns; add CC5 French-knot centers. Keep density similar to the photo: about 3–4 daisies per column, with a few tiny yellow buds between.

Rows 1–4: 1×1 rib.
Row 5 (RS): k across.

Divide at center for fronts:

  • Left Front: work 10 sts with k2 band at edge up to Row 24; shape neckline by k2tog at neck edge every RS row ×4.
  • Right Front: mirror; place a single buttonhole on Row 18 (yo, k2tog) in the band.

Wicker-Look Flower Basket

Body
With CC7 (tan), knit a long 3-st i-cord (~32–34″). Coil the cord into a small oval base (about 1.25″/3.2 cm long). Continue coiling upward while stitching each round to the one below to build walls (~1.4″/3.5 cm tall).
Handle: 3-st i-cord ~3.25″ (8–8.5 cm); curve and attach to both sides.

Daisies for Basket
Knit/embroider 4–5 tiny CC4 daisies with CC5 centers; attach near the rim, and add two mint-green felt leaves or knit leaf pairs (CO 4, kfb, k2, kfb; next row k; ssk, k2tog; BO).

Mint Teacup with Daisy

Cup (worked in the round)
CO 24 sts CC6; join.
Rnd 1–4: k.
Rnd 5 (rim ridge): p.
Rnd 6–7: k.
Rnd 8: k2tog around (12).
Rnd 9: k2tog around (6); draw closed leaving the purl ridge as rim. Lightly stuff.

Handle: 3-st i-cord for 8 rows; sew to side.
Duplicate-stitch a small CC4/CC5 daisy on the cup’s front.

Assembly

  1. Block lightly the dress hem and cardigan collar to relax scallops and curves; avoid heavy steam on stuffed parts.
  2. Attach ears to head sides so the hat sits between them and brushes the cheeks.
  3. Sew arms at shoulder line, angled slightly forward.
  4. Sew tail low on back for balance.
  5. Dress order: dress on first, then cardigan (close single button), put on shoes.
  6. Pop the hat onto the head; tilt a touch to the right.
  7. Place basket in left paw and teacup in right paw; secure with a couple of hidden stitches if displaying long-term.

Finishing & Customization

  • Stitch definition: A smooth DK wool blend at firm gauge gives crisp V-stitches that photograph beautifully, emphasizing the ribbing on cardigan cuffs and the scalloped hem.
  • Safety: If gifting to small children, embroider the eyes (skip safety eyes), omit wire in any flowers, and secure all accessories firmly.
  • Color swaps: Keep the mint/ivory/yellow palette for the daisy theme. If substituting, maintain a pale dress + cream cardigan + green hat triad for the same airy look.
  • Fit tweaks: If your gauge differs, adjust dress bodice by ±4 sts, keeping increases evenly spaced; hem scallops are forgiving.
  • Extra daisies: Add a single daisy “belt bloom” centered at the waist by duplicate stitch for a charming focal point.
  • Display tip: A tiny coin stitched inside the dress hem opposite the basket helps stability for photo shoots.
