Crochet Tutorial: The “Topiary” Sculptor – Free Crochet Pattern

Welcome to the royal gardens! Today we are entering the refined and manicured world of “The Topiary Sculptor.” This caravan is a mobile studio dedicated to the art of shaping living trees into geometric and whimsical forms. The exterior is a deep, majestic Forest Green, reminiscent of old English hedges, topped with a charming roof railing that mimics a garden fence. It exudes an air of elegance and precision.

Inside, the workshop is filled with the sculptor’s masterpieces: miniature bushes trimmed into perfect cones, spheres, hearts, and even a delightful duck. The tools of the trade—oversized hedge shears, a measuring tape for precision, and wire frames—are scattered around the work floor. Outside, a magnificent Peacock struts proudly, perhaps serving as the live model for the sculptor’s next creation. This project is perfect for those who love greenery, structure, and a touch of aristocratic charm.

To capture the sharp, boxy look of the caravan and ensure the roof railing stands upright, we will strictly use the “3-Layer Sandwich Method” (Yarn – Plastic Canvas – Yarn). This technique creates rigid walls that mimic the solid structure of a garden shed. We will use a standard hook for the main shell and a precision micro-hook for the delicate tools and the peacock’s feathers.

Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

  • Top Rail: Work a second round, Sc in top of each chain-post, Ch 4 to bridge the gap between posts. This creates a cute little fence on top of the caravan.
