The Swan Lake Rabbit – Free Crochet Pattern

This exquisite white rabbit stands as a vision of purity and refinement. She features pristine, snowy white fur that is soft to the touch, with long, elegant ears that listen for the orchestra’s cue. She is dressed in a magnificent performance costume: a white tutu-style dress that flares dramatically. The skirt is the highlight, featuring a hemline crafted from fluffy eyelash yarn to mimic the delicate feathers of a swan. Her bodice is a sleeveless design, intricately hand-embellished with shimmering beads and sequins that catch the stage lights.

Adorning her head is a regal headband featuring pearls and soft white feathers, framing her gentle face. On her feet, she wears classic white ballet slippers with satin ribbons lacing up her ankles. Her accessories are theatrical masterpieces: she carries a handbag shaped like a swan, holds a mysterious masquerade mask for the ball, and is accompanied by a tiny, loyal Swan wearing a golden crown. This pattern is an advanced-intermediate project perfect for those who love intricate details and texture.

Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the rabbit body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished rabbit stands approximately 28–30 cm (11–12 inches) tall (excluding ears). The dress is designed to be removable, but the shoes are integrated into the leg pattern.

Construction Overview

The rabbit is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the ballet shoes, and are joined to form the body. The head is round with long, upright ears. The dress is the most detailed component; the bodice is worked in standard yarn, while the skirt utilizes a combination of standard yarn for structure and eyelash yarn for the feathery trim. The accessories—swan bag, mask, and mini swan—are detailed miniatures.
