The Cotton Candy Piggy – Free Crochet Pattern

This delightful piglet features a soft blush pink complexion and rosy cheeks that match her sugary theme. She is dressed ready for a fun day at the fair in a spectacular outfit. Her dress features a cream-colored bib-style bodice that transitions into a voluminous, three-tiered skirt in soft pastel shades of Strawberry Pink, Sky Blue, and Lavender—mimicking the layers of spun sugar. To match her playful personality, she wears an oversized pink headband adorned with white polka dots and sporty white high-top sneakers with pink laces.

Her hands are full of fun: she holds a fluffy stick of pink cotton candy and a bouquet of three colorful balloons. Tagging along for the fun is her prize-winning companion, a tiny white Unicorn with a rainbow mane. This pattern is perfect for intermediate crocheters who love working with color changes and creating themed accessories.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the pig body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished pig stands approximately 26–28 cm (10–11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable, adding an element of interactive play.

Construction Overview

The pig is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the detailed sneakers, and are joined to form the body. The head is round with a distinct snout. The dress is the showstopper, featuring a bodice and three separate ruffle layers attached to the skirt base. The accessories—balloons, cotton candy, and unicorn—are detailed miniatures requiring some craft elements (wire and brushing).
