Assembly and Character Details

The final assembly is what brings the Daisy Gingham Pig to life. Use pins to position all parts before sewing to ensure symmetry.

  • Facial Features: Embroider two small nostrils on the snout with dark pink thread. Use black embroidery floss to create a tiny “Y” shape for the mouth centered under the snout. Apply a small amount of pink blush or chalk to the cheeks for a soft glow.
  • Body Assembly: Sew the head to the body. Ensure the neck is stuffed very firmly so the head does not wobble. Sew the arms at an angle so they sit naturally.
  • Hat and Bag: Place the bucket hat on the head. You can secure it with a few small stitches if desired. Slide the tote bag handle over one arm.
  • Gingham Details: Take extra care when sewing the daisy appliques. They should be centered within the blue checkered squares for a balanced appearance.

Final Polish

Check all your yarn tails and ensure they are buried deep within the stuffing. Use a soft brush to smooth out any stray fibers. Your character is now complete! The vibrant blue and pink contrast creates a striking visual that is sure to stand out in any collection. This project requires patience, particularly during the gingham color switches, but the reward is a beautiful, professional-looking doll that reflects your dedication and skill.

I hope you found this project rewarding. The combination of classic patterns like gingham with adorable amigurumi shapes results in a piece that feels both vintage and modern. Happy stitching!
