Welcome to the tastiest trend on wheels! The “Avocado” Toast House is a crochet project that celebrates the beloved superfood and the slow-living lifestyle. This caravan is uniquely shaped and textured to resemble a giant, ripe avocado. The exterior features a rich, Dark Moss Green skin created with a dense Bobble Stitch texture, mimicking the bumpy peel of the fruit. It is shaped like a halved avocado lying horizontally, offering a cozy, curved shelter.
The interior is a creamy, dreamy maximalist retreat. The centerpiece is the “Avocado Pit” Armchair, a large, glossy brown seat that invites you to sink in. The details are delicious: a miniature plate of avocado toast, a bottle of premium avocado oil, and a scientific touch with a baby avocado tree sprouting from a pit in a glass jar. The floor is lined with a soft light green mat representing the flesh of the fruit. Outside, the vibe is purely “chill”—a slow-moving Sloth lounges on a chair holding his breakfast, while a basket of ripe avocados sits ready for the market. This project is tactile, fun, and full of personality.
Because the “Bobble Stitch” exterior is heavy and textured, the walls need significant support to maintain the rounded, avocado-like shape without collapsing. We will strictly use the “3-Layer Sandwich Method” (Yarn – Plastic Canvas – Yarn). This technique is mandatory. It creates a rigid, structural shell that supports the weight of the yarn and keeps the interior “flesh” smooth and neat. We will alternate between a standard hook for the bumpy skin and a precision micro-hook for the tiny toast and bottle details.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.
Materials & Tools
- Yarn: Worsted/Aran weight for the exterior (for big bobbles); Sport/DK for the interior.

– 1.0mm – 1.25mm (Steel Hook): CRITICAL for the avocado toast, oil bottle, and baby tree details.

Abbreviations (US Terms)
- MR: Magic Ring
- Ch: Chain
- Sc: Single Crochet
- Hdc: Half Double Crochet
- Dc: Double Crochet
- Inc: Increase (2 sc in one st)
- Dec: Decrease (invisible decrease)
- BLO: Back Loop Only
- Sl st: Slip Stitch
- Bobble St: (Yarn over, insert hook into st, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops) x 5 times in same st. Yarn over, pull through all 6 loops. Push bump to front.
Part 1: The Avocado Structure (Sandwich Method)
Use Hook Size: 3.0mm for Exterior, 2.5mm for Interior.
1. The Light Green Floor
Make 2 identical panels using Pale Avocado Green.
- Row 1: Ch 30. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (29)
- Row 2-45: Sc across. (Rectangle approx 4.5″ x 7″).
- The Mat: For the top panel, surface slip stitch a lighter green rectangle in the center to represent the “Light Green Floor Mat.”
- Fasten off Panel 1. Keep yarn attached to Panel 2.
Assembly: Cut plastic canvas to the exact size. Sandwich it between the two panels. Sc around the perimeter through both layers to seal.

2. The Textured Shell (U-Shaped)
This forms the Left Wall, Roof, and Right Wall. The texture is the most important part.
Panel A: Exterior (Dark Moss Green – The Skin)
- Row 1: Ch 95 (Length to cover Left + Roof + Right). Sc across.
- Row 2 (Texture Row): Ch 1, turn. *Sc 1, Bobble St, Sc 1* repeat across. (Ensure bobbles pop to the RS).
- Row 3 (Return): Sc in every stitch across.
- Row 4: Ch 1, turn. *Sc 2, Bobble St, Sc 1* (Offset the bobbles so they fit between the previous row’s bumps).
- Repeat: Continue alternating Texture and Return rows until the panel is wide enough (approx 35 rows). This creates the bumpy “Hass” avocado skin look.
- Window Cutouts: On the side wall (Left), chain and skip stitches to create a square window frame amidst the bobbles. The Right side is the open viewing stage.
Panel B: Interior (Pale Green – The Flesh)
- Use plain Pale Avocado Green yarn in standard Sc. This represents the creamy inside of the fruit. Match dimensions and window gaps of Panel A.
Assembly:
- Cut plastic canvas strip (with window holes).
- Sandwich canvas between Panel A (Dark Bobbles) and Panel B (Pale Smooth).
- Join: Sc around the perimeter using Dark Green.
- Shape: Bend into a U-shape arch. Sew the bottom edges to the Floor Base.
- Back Wall: Make a solid sandwich panel (Bobble Green out, Pale Green in) to close the back.
Part 2: The Pit & The Breakfast
IMPORTANT: Switch to 1.0mm – 1.25mm Hook for miniatures.
1. The Avocado Pit Armchair (The Centerpiece)

- Backrest: Attach yarn to the back rim of the divot. Sc back and forth for 6 rows to create a low curved backrest.
- Placement: Glue this large brown chair in the center of the floor.
