Welcome to the freshest stop on our crochet journey! The “Organic Farmer’s Market” is a bustling, miniature mobile stall bursting with the vibrant colors of a bountiful harvest. Unlike a standard camper, this design features a completely open sidewall, transforming the vehicle into a walk-up market stand. The exterior mimics rustic wood paneling in a warm tan shade, topped with a classic Green and White striped awning that screams “fresh produce.”
The interior is a masterpiece of micro-organization and abundance. To the right, rustic wooden shelves are stocked with homemade preserves: jars of red jam and pickled cucumbers, sitting alongside wheels of artisan cheese. To the left, the “deli” section features hanging cured meats, strings of garlic, and onions dangling from the ceiling. The center floor is dominated by a tiered display of woven baskets, tilted to show off their goods: bright orange carrots, red tomatoes, green broccoli, corn on the cob, strawberries, and pumpkins. Each crate is labeled with a tiny chalkboard price tag. On the exterior, hanging flower baskets add a welcoming touch to this charming roadside stall.
Because of the heavy load of produce and the need for the open shell to maintain its boxy shape without sagging, we will strictly use the “3-Layer Sandwich Method” (Yarn – Plastic Canvas – Yarn). This technique is non-negotiable for the walls and floor. It creates the rigid, architectural support needed to hold the shelves and hanging items securely. We will alternate between a standard hook for the rustic shell and a precision micro-hook for the tiny vegetables and jars.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Part 1: The Rustic Market Structure (Sandwich Method)
Use Hook Size: 2.5mm
1. The Plank Floor Base
Make 2 identical panels using Rustic Tan.
- Row 1: Ch 30. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (29)
- Row 2-45: Sc across. (Rectangle approx 4.5″ x 7″).
- Texture: To mimic floorboards, surface slip stitch lines along the length of the top panel.
- Fasten off Panel 1. Keep yarn attached to Panel 2.
Assembly: Cut plastic canvas to size. Sandwich it between the two panels. Sc around the perimeter through both layers to seal.
2. The Wood-Sided Shell (U-Shaped)
This forms the Left Wall, Roof Base, and Right Wall. The texture must look like horizontal siding.
Panel A: Exterior (Rustic Tan)
- Row 1: Ch 95 (Length to cover Left + Roof + Right). Sc across.
- Rows 2-35: Work in BLO (Back Loop Only) for every row. This creates horizontal ridges that mimic wooden siding planks.
- Open Wall: This pattern is unique because one entire side is open. The “Left” and “Right” walls are the front and back of the trailer, and the U-shape bridges over the top.
- Window Cutouts: On the “Front” wall (the hitch end), cut a small window. The main side is fully open.
Panel B: Interior (Tan)
- Use smooth Tan yarn (Standard Sc) for the interior walls. Match dimensions.
Assembly:
- Cut plastic canvas strip.
- Sandwich canvas between Panel A and Panel B.
- Join: Sc around the perimeter using Tan yarn.
- Shape: Bend into a U-shape arch. Sew the bottom edges to the Floor Base.
- Back Wall: Make a solid sandwich panel (Tan BLO exterior, Tan interior) to close the rear side.

3. The Striped Awning
Use Green and White yarn.
- Pattern: Ch to match the length of the open side.
Row 1: *Sc 4 Green, Sc 4 White* repeat across.
Rows 2-8: Maintain color stacking to create vertical stripes.
Edging: Scallop edge (*Sc, sk 1, 3 dc in next, sk 1*) along the bottom.
- Assembly: Sew to the top edge of the open side so it overhangs like a shop canopy. Support with hidden wire if needed to make it stick out.
Part 2: The Produce Section (Micro-Crochet)
IMPORTANT: Switch to 1.0mm Hook. Produce must be tiny to fit the scale.
1. Display Crates (Make 6)
Use Rustic Tan/Brown.
- Base: Ch 8. Sc 5 rows.
- Walls: Sc around the rectangle. Work FPsc (Front Post Sc) around the posts to mimic a woven basket texture. Height: 4 rows.
- Label Holder: Sew a tiny black rectangle (cardboard painted black or yarn) on a toothpick to the front of each crate. Paint prices ($1.00, $2.00) with white paint/pen.
2. The Vegetables & Fruit
- Carrots: Orange. Ch 4, Sl st back (Cone). Green yarn fluff on top. Fill Crate 1.
- Tomatoes: Red. MR 5 sc, Inc to 10. Sc 1 round. Dec to 5. (Red balls). Fill Crate 2.
- Broccoli: Green. MR 6 sc. *Ch 3, Sl st* in each st (Bobble texture). Stem: Ch 3 tube. Fill Crate 3.
- Corn: Yellow. Ch 5. work 3 dc clusters (Bobbles) down the chain. Green leaf wrapped around base. Fill Crate 4.
- Strawberries: Red. Tiny cones (MR 4 sc, Sc 2 rows). Green tick on top. Fill Crate 5.
- Pumpkins: Orange. MR 6 sc, Inc to 12. Sc 2 rounds. Stuff. Dec to 6. Sew vertical lines to create ribs. Fill Crate 6.
Part 3: The Deli & Pantry
Use 1.0mm – 1.25mm Hook.
1. Hanging Meats (The Charcuterie)
- Sausage Links: Dark Red/Brown. MR 4 sc. Sc 3 rows. *Dec, Ch 1, Inc* (creates the pinch point). Repeat for 4-5 links. Make a loop at the top.
- Cured Ham (Prosciutto): Dark Red. MR 6 sc, Inc to 12. Sc 4 rounds. Dec to 6. Change to White (Bone). Sc 3 rounds. Loop at top.
- Garlic String: White. Make 5-6 tiny bobbles (MR 4 sc, close). Chain them together in a cluster.
- Onions: Gold/Brown skin. MR 6 sc, Inc to 12. Sc 2 rounds. Dec to 6. Leave a long tail root.
- Placement: Install tiny wire hooks on the interior ceiling/left wall. Hang these items in a cluster.
2. Pantry Shelves (Right Wall)
- Shelves: Wood Brown. Cut plastic canvas rectangles (0.5″ x 2″). Cover with Brown yarn. Glue 3 tiers to the right interior wall.

- Tire: Black. MR 6 sc, Inc to 12, (1, Inc) to 18. Sc 2 rounds.
- Hubcap: Silver. MR 6 sc.
- Sew to sides.
3. Hitch & Jack
- Assembly: Grey. Crochet a T-shape tube for the hitch. Add a small wheel (MR 6 sc) at the bottom for the jack stand so the trailer sits level.
Final Assembly
- Structural Check: Ensure the open-sided shell is rigid. The 3-layer sandwich is vital so the roof doesn’t sag over the open market.
- Installing the Market:
- Right Side: Glue the shelves. Arrange Jars and Cheese.
- Left Ceiling: Install hooks and hang the Sausages, Garlic, Onions, and Hams.
- Floor Display: Glue the 6 Crates in two tiered rows (3 on bottom, 3 tilted on top of them or on a small step). Ensure the labels are visible.
- Exterior Styling:
- Sew the Striped Awning to the front roof edge.
- Hang the Flower Baskets.
- Attach the Wheels and Hitch.
Congratulations! You have opened the “Organic Farmer’s Market.” This abundant, detailed playset is ready for business!
