Splish, splash! Welcome to the cleanest, happiest caravan on the road. The “Rubber Duck” Bath House is a vibrant explosion of yellow and blue, capturing the joy of bubble baths and childhood toys. The exterior is a sunny yellow, reminiscent of the classic rubber duck, featuring bubble-shaped round windows and blue trim. Step inside (if you can fit!) to discover a maximalist bathroom: the walls are lined with dozens of miniature crochet ducks—some with glasses, some with hats, all adorable. A clawfoot bathtub overflows with bubbles, and a blue tiled floor ties the room together. Outside, a friendly green frog relaxes in his own wooden tub, sporting a tiny duck on his head.
This project is designed for the detail-oriented crocheter. To ensure the caravan maintains its boxy shape and the tiled floor remains flat, we rely on the “3-Layer Sandwich Method” (Yarn – Plastic Canvas – Yarn). We will also switch between standard hooks for the structure and micro-hooks for the army of tiny ducks.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Part 1: The Caravan Structure (Sandwich Method)
Use Hook Size: 2.5mm
1. The Tiled Floor Base
Make 2 identical panels.
- Row 1: With Ocean Blue yarn, Ch 26. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (25)
- Row 2-40: Sc across. (Aim for a rectangle approx 4″ x 6.5″).
- Fasten off the first piece. Keep yarn attached to the second.
- The Tile Effect: Before assembling, use White yarn to surface slip stitch a grid pattern (vertical and horizontal lines) onto the top panel to create the look of bathroom tiles.
Assembly: Cut plastic canvas to size. Sandwich between the two panels. Sc around the perimeter through both layers using Blue yarn to seal.
2. The Yellow Shell (U-Shaped)
This forms the Left Wall, Roof, and Right Wall. The open side is the front.
Panel A: Exterior (Bright Yellow)
- Row 1: Ch 91 (Length to cover Left Wall + Roof + Right Wall). Sc across. (90)
- Row 2-10: Sc across.
- Row 11 (Round Window – Left Side): Sc to position, Ch 6, Sk 6, Sc across.
- Row 12: Sc across, working 6 Sc into the chain space (or work around the chain later for a cleaner hole).
- Row 13-30: Sc across. Fasten off.
Panel B: Interior (Yellow)
- Repeat Panel A. Ensure the window gap aligns.
Assembly:
- Cut plastic canvas strip (cut out a circle for the window).
- Sandwich canvas between Panel A and Panel B.
- Join: Sc around the entire perimeter through both layers using Yellow. Sc around the inside of the window circle using White yarn to create a frame.
- Shape: Bend into a U-shape arch. Sew the bottom edges to the Floor Base.
3. The Back Wall
Make 2 Yellow panels (approx 25 sts wide x 30 rows high).
- Sandwich plastic canvas between them.
- Sew this wall to the back of the Floor and the back edge of the U-Shaped Shell to close the caravan.
