Sunday Market Cow – Free Crochet Pattern

She is dressed in a chic, effortless “Mori girl” style, wearing a loose-fitting oatmeal linen dress that allows for plenty of movement. Over this, she layers a textured moss green pinafore apron, practical yet stylish for gathering fresh produce. Her look is topped with a sweet floral headscarf tied neatly behind her ears, and she wears comfortable espadrille sandals on her hooves. She is fully prepared for her shopping trip with a stretchy net bag, from which a crusty baguette peeks out, alongside a wedge of fresh cheese. This pattern is perfect for those who love rustic, natural aesthetics and storytelling through crochet.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the cow body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished cow stands approximately 26–28 cm (10–11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable.

Construction Overview

The cow is made in standard amigurumi style. The head is shaped with a wide muzzle. The body is light brown. The legs feature a color change to simulate socks and shoes. The outfit is layered: a base dress in oatmeal and a separate green apron. The net bag is made using chain spaces to create a mesh. The baguette and cheese are simple shapes.
