The “Soft Pretzel” Bunny – Free Knitting Pattern

Her wardrobe is a nod to traditional folk wear, featuring a stunning palette of Cobalt Blue, Golden Brown, and Crisp White. She is dressed in a classic Bavarian Dirndl, a pinafore-style dress in deep blue featuring a corseted bodice with delicate lacing details. Underneath, she wears a White Puff-Sleeve Blouse that adds a touch of softness and volume to her silhouette. Her hair (or ears!) is adorned with a Straw Yellow Braided Headband, resembling the golden wheat of the harvest. On her feet, she wears practical and stylish Black Mary Jane Shoes.

She carries the signature item of her trade: a perfectly knotted Soft Pretzel, knitted in a rich golden dough color and embroidered with specks of “salt.” Trotting loyally by her side is a charming Dachshund (Sausage Dog), whose long body and short legs make him the cutest companion for a baker.

Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

  • White Blouse: Worked flat or in the round. The key feature is the “puff” sleeve, achieved by increasing stitches rapidly at the shoulder and then gathering them back in at the cuff.
  • Dirndl (Pinafore): Worked flat from the bottom up. The skirt is gathered at the waist. The bodice features a square neckline and decorative lacing added after knitting.
  • Braided Headband: Constructed from three separate I-cords braided together.
