Step right up to the joy and excitement of the summer fairground with “The Balloon Seller Piggy.” This vibrant and cheerful amigurumi character captures the essence of childhood happiness, festivals, and sunny days. With her bright smile and colorful wares, she brings a pop of celebration to any room she inhabits.

This adorable piglet features a soft peach-pink complexion and a friendly, welcoming expression. She is dressed in a festive outfit designed to turn heads. Her ensemble includes a pristine white t-shirt with charming puffy sleeves, layered underneath a spectacular pinafore dress featuring vertical pastel rainbow stripes—pink, yellow, mint, blue, and purple. To celebrate the occasion, she wears a fun party hat topped with a fluffy pompom. Her footwear consists of classic white sneakers with cute pink laces. She is ready for business with a bunch of floating balloons and a stick of sweet pink cotton candy. Her little assistant, a tiny yellow duckling, tags along holding a balloon of its own. This pattern is perfect for intermediate crocheters who love playing with color and creating detailed miniatures.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the pig body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished pig stands approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable, adding an extra layer of fun to the project.

Construction Overview

The pig is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the white sneakers, and are joined to form the body. The upper body changes to white to simulate the shirt. The head is round with a sewn-on snout and folded ears. The rainbow pinafore is the highlight; it is worked from the waist down with color changes, and the bib is added afterwards. The accessories—balloons, cotton candy, hat, and duckling—are detailed miniatures.
