This lovable puppy features the classic coloring of a Beagle, with rich brown fur and a snowy white muzzle and blaze. She is dressed to impress in a smart Navy Blue sailor dress (or tunic) featuring a crisp white stripe at the hem and the iconic broad sailor collar with white trim. Perched atop his head is a jaunty white sailor hat with a blue-and-white striped brim.
She wears comfortable white canvas sneakers tied with bright red laces, ready for deck duty. Her accessories are perfectly themed: a blue and white striped tote bag for his gear, and a miniature toy sailboat. Tagging along for the voyage is a tiny, bright yellow Duckling, safe and sound in its own little orange life vest. This pattern is designed for intermediate crocheters who enjoy colorwork and creating detailed miniature accessories.

Gauge & Finished Size
Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the puppy body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished puppy stands approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable, but the shoes are integrated into the leg construction for stability.
Construction Overview
The puppy is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the white sneakers, transitioning to the legs, and joined to form the body. The head is a sphere with color changes to create the white blaze on the forehead. The muzzle is sewn on to give that beagle profile. The floppy ears are made separately and attached. The dress is worked from the neck down with a separate sailor collar attached later. The accessories—hat, tote, boat, and duckling—are detailed miniatures.
