The Easter Parade Piggy – Free Crochet Pattern

This charming little pig is the epitome of springtime elegance. With her soft blush pink complexion and rosy cheeks, she captures the innocence of the season perfectly. She is dressed to impress for the annual Easter Parade in a stunning pastel ensemble. Her outfit features a flowing, flared dress in a delicate Lavender Purple, reminiscent of early spring blooms. To keep the chill of the breeze at bay, she layers a cheerful Lemon Yellow knitted-style vest over her dress.

No Easter outfit is complete without a hat! She wears a spectacular stiff-brimmed Bonnet, intricately decorated with ribbons and miniature, colorful Easter eggs perched right on the brim. She steps out in pristine white ballet flats. In her hand, she carries a symbol of purity and hope: a graceful white Lily branch. On her arm hangs a rustic bamboo-style basket overflowing with vibrant Easter eggs ready for the hunt. And look closely at her feet—she is accompanied by a tiny, fluffy yellow Chick who has just hatched to join the fun. This pattern is designed for intermediate crocheters who love detailed accessories and pastel color palettes.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the pig body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished pig stands approximately 26–28 cm (10–11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable, allowing for dress-up play. The basket and chick are separate miniature items.

Construction Overview

The pig is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the white shoes, and are joined to form the body. The head is round with a sewn-on snout to give it that classic piggy profile. The ears are folded and sewn to the head. The dress is worked from the neck down with a flared skirt. The vest is worked flat in rows with armholes. The bonnet is a detailed piece with a brim. The accessories—basket, eggs, lily, and chick—are miniatures.
