The “Sunflower Summer” Bunny – Free Knitting Pattern

Her wardrobe is designed in a vibrant, earthy palette of Sunflower Yellow and Soil Brown. She wears a textured Soil Brown Dress, knitted in the classic “Moss Stitch” (or Seed Stitch) to represent the rich texture of the earth and the sunflower’s center. To mimic the bright petals of her favorite flower, she layers a Sunflower Yellow Cardigan over her dress, featuring sleeves that flare gently at the cuffs. Her head is protected from the summer rays by a trendy Brown Bucket Hat with a striking yellow rim and a tiny sunflower motif. Her feet are breezy in Yellow Strappy Sandals. She carries a magnificent, long-stemmed Giant Sunflower and is accompanied by a surprising but gentle friend: a small Black Crow wearing a yellow bow tie, proving that even opposites can be best friends.

  • Moss Stitch Dress: Worked flat from the bottom up. The moss stitch creates a bumpy, “seeded” texture resembling the center of a sunflower or pebbled soil.
  • Flared Cardigan: Worked flat from the top down. The sleeves are shaped with increases near the wrist to create a petal-like flare.
  • Bucket Hat: Worked in the round, starting with a flat top, then sides, and finally a brim that flares out.
