Materials

  • Yarn (DK / light worsted weight) in the following colors:
    1. Bunny body: warm beige or light tan
    2. Dress main: soft cream
    3. Bobas & details: medium brown
    4. Cardigan: pastel mint
    5. Hat: blush pink
    6. Shoes: cream (same as dress)
    7. Bubble tea cup: light caramel + darker brown for pearls + cream for topping
    8. A tiny bit of dark brown/black for facial embroidery
  • Needles
    1. US 2 (2.75 mm) circular or DPNs for bunny and accessories (tight gauge)
    2. US 3 (3.25 mm) for clothing if you want them slightly looser (optional – you can use US 2 for everything)
  • Notions
    1. 8 mm safety eyes (2 pieces)
    2. Polyester stuffing
    3. Tapestry needle
    4. Stitch markers
    5. Waste yarn or stitch holders
    6. Optional: a touch of dry blush for cheeks

Finished height: approximately 8–9 in (20–23 cm) tall when using DK yarn and suggested needles.

Gauge: around 28–30 sts = 4 in (10 cm) in stockinette in the round on smaller needles. Exact gauge is less critical for toys, but aim for a firm fabric so stuffing does not show.

Construction Overview

The bunny is worked from the feet up in the round. The two legs are knit first, then joined to work the body and head as one continuous piece. Arms, ears, and tail are knit separately and sewn on.

The clothing and accessories are removable:

  • Dress is knitted in the round from the top down with scattered bobble “boba pearls.”
  • Cardigan is knit flat and seamed minimally.
  • Shoes, hat, and bubble tea bag are worked in the round.

Stuff the bunny firmly as you go, paying attention to the shape of the head and snout.

Rnd 3: (k1, k2tog) around – 8 sts

Stuff lightly.

Rnd 4: (k2tog) around – 4 sts

Face Embroidery

Using dark brown yarn:

  • Embroider a small triangular nose centered between eyes, a couple of rounds below.
  • Add a short vertical line and a gentle “smile” curve.
  • Add tiny stitches for eye highlights if desired.

Secure all ends inside the head.

Assembly of Bunny

  • Sew arms to the sides of the body, just below the neck, angled slightly forward so she can “hold” the bag.
  • Sew ears to the top sides of the head, with a soft downward flop.
  • Sew tail to the lower back of the body, centered between legs.

Set bunny aside while you knit the outfit.

Cream Boba Dress

Worked top-down in the round. Use cream yarn and US 2 or 3 needles.

CO 36 sts, join in the round, pm.

Rnd 1–3: k1, p1 rib.

Yoke:
Rnd 4: k
Rnd 5: (k5, kfb) around – 42 sts
Rnd 6: k
Rnd 7: (k6, kfb) around – 48 sts
Rnd 8: k

Divide for armholes (worked like a simple sleeveless dress with tiny gaps that will be hidden by the cardigan):

Rnd 9 (setup): k10, BO 2, k12, BO 2, k12 – 40 sts remain on needles.

Rnd 10: k10, CO 2 over gap, k12, CO 2 over gap, k12 – back to 44 sts.

From here, work body of dress in the round.

Rnd 11–13: k

Increase for slight flare:
Rnd 14: (k10, kfb, k1) around – 48 sts
Rnd 15–17: k

Rnd 18: (k7, kfb) around – 54 sts
Rnd 19–21: k

Begin “boba pearls” using brown yarn. Work bobble dots randomly spaced every few stitches for three rounds. One simple bobble (on RS) in the round:

Bobble (Bbl): (kfb, kfb into same st – 4 sts from 1), turn, p4, turn, k4, pass 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sts over 1st st on right needle.

Rnd 22: k 5–7 sts in cream, work 1 Bbl in brown; rep around, spacing irregularly.
Rnd 23–24: k all sts in cream.
Rnd 25: repeat bobbles, but stagger placement so they don’t line up vertically.

Work plain cream rounds until the dress reaches just above bunny’s feet (approx. 5–6 more rounds).

Final 3 rounds:
Rnd: k1, p1 rib around.
BO loosely in pattern.

Try dress on bunny; it should slide up from feet and rest just under the arms.

Mint Cardigan

Knit flat from the neck down in one piece. Use mint yarn and US 3 needles.

CO 32 sts.

Row 1 (WS): p all.
Row 2 (RS): k all.

Begin simple garter yoke:
Rows 3–8: knit every row.

Shape body slightly:

Row 9 (button band edge RS): k5, m1, k3 rep to last 4 sts, k4 – 42 sts.
Row 10 (WS): k all.

Now work in stockinette (k RS, p WS) with 4-stitch garter bands at each front edge:

Row 11 (RS): k4, k to last 4 sts, k4
Row 12 (WS): k4, p to last 4 sts, k4

Repeat Rows 11–12 until piece measures the bunny’s torso length from neck to just above tail (about 2 ¾–3 in / 7–7.5 cm).

Separate sleeves in a very simple way by creating tiny underarm gaps:

Next RS row:

  • k4 (front band), k6 (right front), BO 4 (armhole), k18 (back), BO 4 (armhole), k6 (left front), k4 (front band).

WS row:

  • k4, p6, CO 4 over gap, p18, CO 4, p6, k4.

Work 4 more rows in the same stockinette with garter bands.

Bottom edging:
Knit 4 rows garter (knit every row), then BO loosely knitwise.

Sleeves (pick up later if you like): for a very cropped cardigan look, you can leave armholes as tiny cap sleeves; or pick up approx. 16 sts around each armhole and knit 4–5 rounds in stockinette, then 3 rounds garter and BO.

Cream Mary Jane Shoes (make 2)

Use cream yarn and US 2 needles.

CO 8 sts, join in the round.

Rnd 1: kfb around – 16 sts
Rnd 2: k
Rnd 3: (k1, kfb) around – 24 sts
Rnd 4–5: k

Rnd 6: (k6, k2tog) three times – 21 sts
Rnd 7: k
Rnd 8: (k5, k2tog) three times – 18 sts

Begin short cuff:
Rnd 9–11: k

Flat strap (worked back and forth on half the sts):
Place 9 sts on one needle for strap side, leave remaining 9 sts on holder.

Row 1 (RS): k9
Row 2: p9
Row 3: k9
Row 4: p9

BO. Sew strap across instep to opposite side. Stuff foot into shoe and weave in ends neatly.

Repeat for second shoe, mirroring strap direction if desired.

Blush Bucket Hat

Use pink yarn and US 2 or 3 needles.

CO 6 sts, join in the round.

Rnd 1: kfb around – 12 sts
Rnd 2: k
Rnd 3: (k1, kfb) around – 18 sts
Rnd 4: k
Rnd 5: (k2, kfb) around – 24 sts
Rnd 6: k
Rnd 7: (k3, kfb) around – 30 sts
Rnd 8: k

Work even in stockinette until the hat sides measure about 1 in (2.5 cm).

Brim:

Rnd: (k4, kfb) around – 36 sts
Next 3 rnds: k
Next rnd: (k5, kfb) around – 42 sts
Next 2 rnds: k

BO loosely. Try hat on bunny; the brim should roll down softly over the forehead.

Bubble Tea Crossbody Bag

Use caramel/light brown yarn for cup, dark brown for pearls, and cream for topping. All in US 2 needles.

Cup

With caramel yarn, CO 6 sts, join in the round.

Rnd 1: kfb around – 12 sts
Rnd 2: (k1, kfb) around – 18 sts
Rnd 3: k
Rnd 4: (k2, kfb) around – 24 sts

Rnd 5–7: k

Rnd 8: using dark brown, work bobbles randomly every 3–4 sts (Bbl as used in dress), knitting the other sts in caramel.

Rnd 9–11: k in caramel.

Cut yarn, leaving a tail to sew.

Topping

Switch to cream yarn.

Rnd 12–13: k
Rnd 14: (k2, k2tog) around – 18 sts
Rnd 15: (k1, k2tog) around – 12 sts

Stuff cup lightly.

Rnd 16: (k2tog) around – 6 sts

Cut yarn, pull through sts, fasten off, shaping the top into a little whipped-cream dome.

Straw

With mint or cream yarn, CO 4 sts on DPNs. Work i-cord for about 1–1.25 in (2.5–3 cm). BO, leaving tails. Sew one end into the center of the whipped topping so it stands slightly to the side.

Strap

With caramel yarn, CO 60–70 sts (adjust length to cross from bunny’s left shoulder to right hip). BO. Sew each end of strap to opposite sides of cup near the top.

Final Assembly & Styling

  1. Dress the bunny: slide cream boba dress up from the feet and position just under the arms.
  2. Put on shoes and adjust so toes sit snugly in the rounded front.
  3. Dress bunny in mint cardigan. If you’d like, sew a tiny snap or leave it open.
  4. Place the bucket hat on the head, tilting slightly forward.
  5. Hang the bubble tea bag strap over one shoulder so the cup sits at the bunny’s side or front.
  6. Add a light touch of blush to the cheeks if desired.
