Assembly Order

- Arms: sew between Rnds 14–15, slightly forward.
- Ears: attach low on sides so they hang under the hat brim.
- Dress the dog: tee first, then skirt.
- Put on sneakers and lace bows.
- Drape the pouch across body; tack strap at two shoulder points to stay put.
- Place bucket hat at a relaxed angle; secure with a couple hidden stitches inside.
- Pose with surfboard, towel, sunscreen, and sunglasses as shown.
Blocking & Photo Tips
- Steam the hat brim and skirt hem to set the soft curve.
- Smooth the tee stripes with a gentle tug so rows line up.
- For crisp sneaker shape, add a thin cardboard sole insert.
- Photograph in natural light on a deck or balcony with warm wood and soft greenery in the background to match the beach-day vibe.
Care
Spot clean only. If you used cardboard soles or magnets, avoid soaking. Reshape the hat and sneakers while damp; lay flat to dry.
Quick Troubleshooting
- Head wobbles: neck stuffing is too soft—add more through the seam.
- Hat too loose/tight: add/remove one increase round before side walls.
- Skirt rides up: go up a hook size for the waistband or add one more waist round before the flare.
- Sneaker tongues curl: lightly steam and pin until dry.
