Introduction

Meet the Picnic Gingham Bunny—a soft, friendly amigurumi rabbit dressed for a sunny weekend outing. She wears a blue-and-cream gingham pinafore over a puff-sleeve cream blouse, white Mary-Jane shoes, a butter-yellow straw-look sun hat with a mint leaf band, and a tiny tan crossbody picnic bag. A single daisy is embroidered near the right hem of the dress to complete the look.

ASSEMBLY & FINISHING

Order of Assembly

  1. Join head to body securely; keep seam vertical.
  2. Sew arms at body Rnd 22; angle slightly forward.
  3. Attach ears across head Rnds 4–6, 10° outward. Add light wire inside if you want crisp perky ears (cap ends).
  4. Dress bunny with blouse, then pinafore (cross straps in back).
  5. Put on shoes and fasten straps.
  6. Place hat so brim front sits just above eyes; tack with 1–2 hidden stitches if the room is breezy.
  7. Hang bag from left shoulder to right hip; stitch a tiny tack on the shoulder to keep strap from sliding.

Stuffing & Shaping Tips

  • Head: concentrate stuffing at lower cheeks to keep the smile line soft; avoid overstuffing crown (helps hat sit naturally).
  • Body: taper stuffing from hips upward to maintain the gentle chest curve at Rnds 20–24.
  • Feet: keep toe round by shaping the shoe rounds before switching to leg color.
  • Arms: leave upper third unstuffed for a natural drape over the dress.

Quality Check (match-the-photo list)

  • Height without hat ~25–26 cm; sitting ~17 cm.
  • Eye line lands between Rnds 12–13, 9 sts apart; pupils level.
  • Daisy placed ~2.5 cm above hem on right front panel.
  • Gingham is tidy: checks change every 3 sts and every 2 rows on bodice/waist; skirt maintains checks to hem with increases aligned inside blocks.
  • Hat brim lies flat with a subtle flare; mint band is centered.
  • Bag rests at upper thigh, not below knee; strap crosses chest cleanly.
  • Shoes present a closed toe, visible strap, and neutral off-white tone.

Care & Styling

  • Because most pieces are cotton, the set holds shape well. Steam lightly (no iron contact) to settle the gingham skirt and hat brim. For photos, stage on a light wooden table with soft daylight and a pastel cloth or gingham napkin underfoot, plus a few strawberries as props for the full picnic mood.
