Meet the Bunny “Pottery Studio”—a cozy knit rabbit ready for a clay day: cream-and-clay striped tee, terracotta pinafore-apron with pocket, clog-style shoes, a soft headband bow, and a square tote packed with tiny studio tools. Use the exact counts and placements below to replicate the image 1:1.

Materials Needed

  • Yarn (DK / Light #3)
    1. Bunny: almond/natural 100 g
    2. Face embroidery: light brown scraps
    3. Eyes: safety eyes 8 mm (or embroider)
    4. Tee: cream 25–30 g + clay/terracotta-light 20–25 g
    5. Pinafore: terracotta 45–55 g
    6. Shoes: brown 25–30 g + cream 10 g (sidewall/trim)

Gauge & Finished Size

  • Toy (US 2): ~28–30 sts × 40–42 rows = 4 in / 10 cm stockinette in the round, firm.
  • Garments (US 3): ~24–26 sts × 36–38 rows = 4 in / 10 cm stockinette.
  • Finished height: ~30–31 cm without ears.

Pattern Notes

  • Toy pieces are in the round unless noted.
  • Stuff gradually and firmly; the head and feet need the most firmness.
  • Use mattress stitch for invisible seams.
  • For children under 3, embroider eyes and secure small accessories.

  6. (k4, kfb) ×8 (48).
    7–16) k around (48).
  7. (k7, kfb) ×6 (54).
    18–19) k around (54).
  8. Eye map: k to left-eye spot, pm; k 14, pm for right eye; k to end.
  9. k around; insert 8 mm eyes between Rnds 20–21 at markers (secure later).
  10. (k7, k2tog) ×6 (48).
  11. k around; begin firm stuffing.
  12. (k6, k2tog) ×6 (42).
  13. k around.
  14. (k5, k2tog) ×6 (36).

    6–10) k around (36).

Legs & Feet (make 2; US 2; almond)

  1. CO 10, join.

Clothing & Accessories

Sock Cuffs (US 3; cream)

Pick up 20 sts around each ankle; work k1, p1 rib for 4 rnds; BO loosely.

Clog-Style Shoes (US 3; brown + cream)

Soles (flat garter; 2 per shoe)

  1. CO 6. Row 1: kfb, k4, kfb (8).
  2. Row 2: k.
  3. Row 3: kfb, k6, kfb (10).
  4. Row 4: k.
  5. Row 5: kfb, k8, kfb (12).
    BO. Whipstitch two soles WS together for each shoe.
    Sidewall & Upper (in the round)
  6. With cream, PU 36 sts around sole; k 1 rnd (pale sidewall stripe).
  7. Switch to brown; k 1 rnd.
  8. Toe cap: k7, ssk, k14, k2tog, k7 (34).
  9. k around.
  10. k6, ssk, k14, k2tog, k6 (32).
  11. k around.
  12. Collar: with brown, k 2 rnds; BO elastic.
    Slip on; tack a stitch at heel to keep position.

Striped Tee (US 3; cream + clay)

Stripe sequence: 2 rnds cream, 2 rnds clay throughout (begin and end with cream at hems/bands).
Body (in the round)

  1. CO 96 sts; join, pm.
  2. Hem rib: k1, p1 for 4 rnds in cream.
  3. Work stripes for 18 rnds even.
  4. Divide front/back: BO 4 at each side → 92 sts (46 front, 46 back). Place front on hold.

Back (flat)
5) Continue stripe sequence 12 rows.
6) Back neck: BO center 18 sts; each shoulder has 14 sts; work 4 more rows and BO.

Front (flat, crew neck)
7) Return 46 sts; work 8 rows stripes.
8) Neck shaping: BO center 12; on each side dec 1 st at neck edge every RS ×3; work to match back length; BO shoulders 14 sts.

Seams & Bands

  • Join shoulders.
  • Neckband: pick up ≈ 68–72 sts around neckline in cream; k1, p1 rib 4 rows; BO.
  • Sleeves: PU 44–48 sts around each armhole; work stripe sequence in the round for 8–10 rnds; finish with k1, p1 rib 3 rnds in cream; BO.
    The tee should be slim and sit under the pinafore.

Terracotta Pinafore–Apron (US 3; terracotta)

Skirt (in the round, top-down A-line)

  1. CO 96 sts; join, pm.
  2. Waistband rib: k1, p1 × 4 rnds.
  3. A-line increase set: (k6, m1) around → 112 sts.
  4. Knit 6 rnds plain.
  5. (k7, m1) around → 128 sts.
  6. Knit 6 rnds plain.
  7. (k8, m1) around → 144 sts.
  8. Knit straight until the skirt reaches knee length on the doll (~16–17 cm from waistband).
  9. Hem: p 1 rnd (turn line), k 1 rnd, BO loosely. Fold to WS and whipstitch for a crisp clean hem.

Bib (flat)
10) With RS facing, find the front center; pick up 28 sts evenly across the inside of the waistband.
11) Rows 1–12: stockinette (k RS, p WS).
12) Round the corners: on next two RS rows, ssk at the start and k2tog at the end (1 st dec each edge ×2) → 24 sts.
13) Work k1, p1 rib for 3 rows across top edge; BO.

Straps (make 2)

  • Pick up 6 sts at each top corner of bib; work 2 rows garter, then continue in stockinette until strap measures 13–14 cm.
  • Attach straight to the back waistband (not crossed) or add small button loops at tips; sew two tiny buttons at the top of the bib for a neat look.

Center Pocket

  • CO 12; stockinette 10 rows; last 2 rows in k1, p1 rib; BO.
  • Sew pocket centered on bib; leave top open for tools.

Fit note: If the waistband is loose, you can thread elastic through the rib.

Headband with Bow (US 3; beige)

Band: CO 5; work garter 18–20 rows; BO; sew ends to form a ring that slides over ears.
Bow: CO 8; stockinette 22 rows; seam short ends to make a loop; flatten.
Wrap: CO 6; garter 6 rows; wrap center tightly and stitch to the band. Wear slightly over one ear.

Studio Tote & Tiny Tools (US 3)

Tote (clay)

  • Body (flat): CO 22; stockinette 24 rows. Fold at Row 18 to form the base (18 rows for body height, 6 rows for flap if you want a lid; here we make an open tote).
  • Side gussets: PU 16 sts along each side; knit 3 rows garter; seam to front and back to create a boxy tote.
  • Handles: CO 3 for I-cord; knit 18 rows; make two; sew at the rim.
  • Optional lining: slide a rectangle of plastic/cardboard inside before closing seams to keep the shape.

Mini Rolling Pin (beige + brown)

  • Barrel: CO 6; join; k 6 rnds; k2tog around to 3 sts; draw through.
  • Handles: Pick up 2 sts at each end; knit i-cord 3–4 rows; knot ends.

Mini Paintbrush (brown + leaf green)

  • Handle: I-cord CO 2; knit 6–7 rows in brown.
  • Ferrule & bristles: Switch to leaf green; k 2 rows; BO; trim end to a brush tip.

  • Light steam (no iron contact) to smooth tee stripes, set pinafore hem fold, and tidy rib bands.

  • Arrange the pocket tools so they read clearly in photos (brush tip up, rolling pin angled).
