Tiny Chef Mouse is an amigurumi mouse dressed in a striped kitchen shirt, cream polka-dot apron dress, coral Mary Jane shoes, and a tall chef’s hat. She comes with a tiny crossbody pot bag, a frying pan with a pancake, a whisk, two wooden spoons, and an open recipe book for adorable kitchen photos.

- DK or light worsted weight yarn
- Mouse body, arms, legs, ears: light beige
- Nose & inner ear lining (optional): soft peach or slightly darker beige
- Shirt stripes: light cream + muted blue
- Apron dress: cream, with red/orange dots

- Chef hat: cream

- Crochet hook: 2.25–2.75 mm, to get tight stitches
- Safety eyes: 8–10 mm black
- Polyester fiberfill stuffing

Finished height (with hat): approx. 18–20 cm (7–8″).
Gauge & Notes
Gauge is not critical, but fabric must be firm so stuffing does not show. As a guide: 6 sc × 7 rows ≈ 1″ (2.5 cm).
Stuff as you go. Shape with your hands while sewing so the head stays round, the body slightly oval, and the feet flat.
Construction Overview
- Mouse base: head, ears, body, arms, legs, tail.
- Clothing: striped “shirt” (worked as color changes on body + arms), separate cream apron dress, coral shoes, tall chef hat.
- Accessories: crossbody pot bag, frying pan with pancake, recipe book, whisk, and two small spoons.
- Assemble the mouse first, then dress and add accessories.

Assembling the Mouse
- Sew head to body, aligning the chin just above the striped shirt.
- Attach legs to the lower sides of the body so the mouse stands flat, with feet slightly apart.
- Sew arms just below the neckline, angling slightly forward so they can hold accessories.
- Sew ears to the top sides of the head, about two rounds above the eyes, with the open sides facing slightly forward.
- Attach tail at the back, near the base of the body.
Set the finished mouse aside.
Coral Mary Jane Shoes
Make 2 with coral pink.

Slip each shoe onto a leg and sew around the ankle. Bring the chain strap over the front of the ankle and tack it down on the opposite side, forming a Mary Jane strap.
Chef Hat
Use cream yarn.
Crown top:

Apron Dress (Cream with Red Dots)
This piece includes skirt, bodice, and straps. Use cream yarn for main, red/orange for dots.
Skirt
Row 1: ch 40, join with sl st to form a ring (40).
Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in each ch around, join (40).
Rnd 2: ch 1, (1 sc, inc) around (60), join.
Rnd 3: ch 2, dc in each st around (60), join.
Rnd 4: ch 1, (sc, ch 1) in each st around for a soft ruffle edge, join.
FO and weave in.
Bodice
Lay the skirt flat. Find the center front 12 sts.
Row 1 (attach cream): join yarn at left front point, ch 1, sc in 12 sts across front only (12).
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc across (12).
Row 3: ch 1, turn, dec, 8 sc, dec (10).
Row 4: ch 1, turn, sc across (10).
Row 5: ch 1, turn, dec, 6 sc, dec (8).
Row 6 (form straps):
- ch 16 for first strap, FO.
- Rejoin at opposite top corner of bodice, ch 16 for second strap, FO.
Cross straps at the back when dressing and sew the strap ends to the upper back edge of the skirt waistband.
Polka Dots
With red/orange yarn, embroider small French knots or sew tiny circles evenly across the skirt and a few on the bodice.
Put the apron dress on the mouse, straps crossing at the back and bodice centered on the chest.
Crossbody Pot Bag
Use light gray.
Bag body:
Row 1: ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (6).
Rows 2–6: ch 1, turn, sc across (6).
Fold rectangle in half to form a small pouch (3 rows front/back).
Sc around sides and bottom to join, leaving top open. FO.
Lid:
Row 1: ch 5, sc in 2nd ch and across (4).
Rows 2–3: ch 1, turn, sc across (4). FO.
Handle knob:
MR, 4 sc, FO.
Sew knob to center of lid, then stitch lid along back edge of bag so it flips open slightly.
Strap:
With gray, ch 45–50 (measure across mouse body). FO.
Sew strap ends to sides of bag so it can be worn crossbody.
Place the bag across the mouse from one shoulder to the opposite hip.
Frying Pan with Pancake
Pan base (dark charcoal):
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc (6)

Handle (dark charcoal):

Sew one short end of handle to side of pan.
Pancake (light yellow):

FO. Sew pancake to center of pan.
Place pan handle into one hand and stitch it in place so it angles slightly downward, as in the photo.

Use beige.
Cover:
Row 1: ch 10, sc in 2nd ch and across (9).
Rows 2–8: ch 1, turn, sc across (9).
FO. Fold in half to form front and back covers.
Pages:
Row 1: ch 8, sc in 2nd ch and across (7).
Rows 2–6: ch 1, turn, sc across (7). FO.
Fold pages and sew them inside the cover along the center fold.
With brown yarn, embroider “RECIPES” across the front cover. Pose the book slightly open in front of the mouse.
Whisk
Handle (beige):
Row 1: ch 7, sc in 2nd ch and across (6).
Rows 2–3: ch 1, turn, sc across (6). FO.
Whisk wires (light gray):
Cut three short lengths of yarn. Fold them, insert through one end of handle, and secure. Bring all ends together and stitch them so they form a small looped whisk shape.
Place the whisk leaning inside the open recipe book or next to it.
Wooden Spoons (make 2)
Use beige.
Row 1: ch 6, sc in 2nd ch and across (5).
Rows 2–3: ch 1, turn, sc across (5).
Row 4: ch 1, turn, dec, 1 sc, dec (3)
Rows 5–6: ch 1, turn, sc across (3)
FO. Round one end with your fingers to mimic a spoon bowl. Make a second spoon and place both on the table in front of the mouse.
Final Assembly & Styling
- Dress the mouse in coral shoes first so legs sit correctly.
- Put the apron dress around the body, adjust the ruffle so it hangs evenly, then cross the straps at the back and sew in place.
- Slide the crossbody pot bag over one shoulder.
- Place the chef hat on the head and secure with a small stitch if needed.
- Stitch the frying pan to one hand, and position the other hand near the recipe book or whisk.
- Arrange the whisk in or near the book and the small spoons on the surface to recreate the cozy kitchen scene.
