- Notions
- Toy stuffing
- 2 safety eyes, 6–7 mm, or black embroidery thread
- Black thread for mouth
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
- A tiny real bell (optional), or yarn to knit a small bell shape
Gauge is not critical, but fabric should be firm so stuffing does not show.
Gauge & Finished Size
- Approximate gauge: 28 sts = 4″ (10 cm) in stockinette in the round using US 3 (3.25 mm).
- Finished bunny height: about 7–8″ (18–20 cm) including ears.
If your bunny is much larger or smaller, adjust needle size accordingly.
Construction Overview
- Bunny is worked from the feet up in one piece: legs, body, and head are continuous.
- Arms, ears, tail, and muzzle accents are worked separately and sewn on.
- Clothes and accessories are separate: cream polo top, vertical pastel striped skirt, sneakers, pink ice cream cap, crossbody bag, ice cream cones, and a small ice cream truck.
- The overall silhouette features a slightly oversized head, sturdy legs, and rounded paws to mimic a realistic handmade toy.

Face Embroidery
With tan yarn, embroider a soft oval muzzle area by lightly stitching over a few knit stitches around the nose placement.
With peach or soft pink yarn, stitch a small triangle nose between eyes, 2–3 rnds below. Add a short vertical stitch and a gentle curved smile using black or dark brown thread. Keep expression simple and friendly.
Sew arms to sides of body just under the neck, angled slightly forward so the bunny can hold the ice cream cone and bag strap. Sew ears on top of head, tilted slightly outward.

Pastel Vertical Stripe Skirt
Skirt is knit in the round with simple stranded vertical stripes.
Choose three colors:

Using color A and circular/DPNs:
CO 72 sts. Join in the round, pm.
Rnd 1–4 (waistband): k1, p1 around in color A.
Set up stripe sequence for skirt:
We will work a repeating pattern of 2 sts A, 2 sts B, 2 sts C around. Carry unused yarns loosely up the inside; twist strands occasionally to avoid long floats.
Rnd 5: k2 A, k2 B, k2 C repeat around (72 sts total).
Continue in stockinette, maintaining color sequence on every rnd, for about 20–22 rnds, or until skirt reaches just above shoes.
Hem:
Switch to one color (for example pastel pink A).
Rnd 1–3: k all.
Rnd 4–6: k1, p1 rib for a tidy edge.
BO loosely.
Weave in all ends carefully so inside looks neat and doesn’t bulk up around bunny’s legs.
The skirt slips up over the legs and sits at the bunny’s waist, under the polo top.

Work same as above but slightly shorter (omit one row in cone body) and use one or two scoops as in the photo. It can stand beside the bunny.

Assembly & Styling
- Dress the bunny in the pastel striped skirt first.
- Slip the cream polo top over the head and smooth it down over the waistband.
- Put on the white sneakers, making sure toes point forward.
- Add the aqua crossbody bag across the chest, bag resting at hip.
- Place the pink cap on the head with ears poking up behind.
- Sew or tack the handheld ice cream cone into one paw so it is secure.
- Arrange the spare cone, truck, and little bell on a wooden surface nearby.
Fluff stuffing, straighten ears, and smooth all stitches so the knit texture is clear and crisp. Photograph your Ice Cream Truck Bunny in soft natural light on a sofa or wooden table to capture that cozy, handmade product look.
