ASSEMBLY

  1. Head & Ears
Pin ears to the head sides so the lowest edge sits about 2 rounds above the eye line and the tips hang just past the jaw. Sew firmly.
Attach head to body: center and ladder-stitch around the neck opening, adding a pinch more stuffing before closing to avoid wobble.
  2. Arms
Position arms so the hands reach the waistline. Angle the left arm slightly forward to hold the shaker; tack at the shoulder through the flattened top rounds.
  3. Legs
Set legs under the body with 1–2 sts between them; sew around firmly, checking that the pup stands when supported. Fasten the Mary Jane straps over the instep and secure bows.
  4. Dress & Tee
Put on the cream tee; close the back loop. Slip the apron skirt up from the feet, then fasten straps over the shoulders, crossing if desired. Place the split pocket centered; stitch only the pocket edges so it remains functional.
  5. Cap & Straw
Seat the cap low on the forehead, between ear bases. Use a hidden stitch to keep the playful tilt. Ensure straw points slightly backward.
  6. Accessories
Drape the crossbody boba cup from left shoulder to right hip so the window faces forward. Place the shaker in the left paw; add one small stitch through the palm to hold it. Position the chalkboard menu in the right paw or set it beside the pup.

FINISHING & CUSTOMIZATION

  • Face details: For a gentler expression, angle the eyes slightly upward and reduce nose size by using fewer wraps. Add a single white stitch highlight to each eye.
  • Apron fit: If your gauge is looser, remove one increase round on the skirt; if tighter, add +6 sts evenly at R12. The bib should sit high on the chest just below the snout.
  • Clear cup tip: If using a vinyl window, blanket-stitch edges neatly and avoid sharp corners. For an all-yarn version, lightly needle-felt the “tea” color inside the cup for a translucent look.
  • Safety: If gifting to children under 3, embroider the eyes, omit the button, secure the cup strap and menu permanently, and avoid the optional wire handle.
  • Palette swaps: Keep the café pastel mood by swapping leaf green for sage or mint, and brown pearls for dark plum or charcoal “grass jelly.”
  • Posing: A small hidden coin in each shoe (taped or stitched under the sole fabric) adds stability for shelf display.

Quick Recap

  • Crochet head sphere with attached oval muzzle; add 10 mm eyes and embroidered smile.
  • Make floppy ears and sew low and forward on the head.
  • Work tapered body; sew on slim arms and legs with Mary Jane shoes.
  • Tee: top-down, short sleeves, BLO hem.
  • Apron dress: circular A-line skirt, square bib, crossed straps, split pocket, name badge.
  • Cap: low cylinder with a playful straw.
  • Accessories: crossbody boba cup with pearls, a handheld shaker, and a chalkboard menu.
  • Assemble, steam-shape hems and cap, and pose in soft natural light.
