Intro

Meet the Pizza Courier Puppy: a beige pup in a red polo with white collar, charcoal delivery shorts, and red-white lace sneakers. Accessories include a red delivery helmet, a square pizza backpack, a pepperoni pizza (sliced), a phone with handlebar mount, a squeeze bottle, a tip cash piece, and a “30 MIN OR LESS” counter sign.

    6. Sneaker uppers: red + denim gray, 20 g each (scraps ok)
    7. Helmet + Backpack: red, 60 g; helmet stripe: cream (scraps)
    8. Backpack trim: dark gray/black (scraps)
    9. Pizza: crust mustard, cheese butter-yellow, pepperoni brick red, basil specks green (small amounts)
    10. Phone & Mount: black + mid gray (scraps)
    11. Squeeze bottle: mustard yellow + ketchup red cap (small amounts)
    12. Sign: cream + black letters
    13. Tip cash: olive green (scraps)
  • Hooks: 3.0 mm (amigurumi) and 3.25–3.5 mm (clothes/accessories)
  • 9 mm safety eyes
  • Polyester stuffing
  • Yarn needle, stitch markers, scissors
  • Optional: small magnets or snap for backpack flap; stiffener for sign; tiny bit of floral wire for phone mount (omit for kids)

Gauge & Finished Size

  • Finished size: seated height ~9–10″ (23–25 cm). Shoes ~2.25″ long; pizza ~3.75″ diameter.

Construction Overview

The puppy is seated. Work and stuff pieces separately—head, muzzle, ears, body/hips, arms, legs/feet, tail—then sew. Clothing is removable: red polo with white collar, shorts, helmet. Build sneakers onto the feet. Props: cube pizza backpack, round pizza (cut lines), phone + mount, sauce squeeze bottle, tip cash, and counter sign.

Assembly (Base Doll)

  • Sew head to body; angle slightly forward.
  • Attach ears to the sides of head so they hang just below helmet edge later.
  • Sew arms at top sides; left palm will hold the pizza, right relaxed by side.
  • Sew legs to front of body so the pup sits with knees bent forward.
  • Weave in all ends.

Clothing

Red Polo with White Collar (3.25–3.5 mm)

Relaxed fit; short sleeves; tiny button look.

Body (bottom-up, in the round)

  1. With red, ch 64; join (64).
  2. Rnd 1: sc around (64).
  3. Rnd 2: BLO sc around for hem ridge (64).
    4–7. sc around (64).
  4. Separate armholes: sc 8, ch 4 (sk 6), sc 20, ch 4 (sk 6), sc 8 (44).
    6–9. sc around (44).
    Fo and tidy.

Sleeves (pick up at each armhole)

  • Work 12 sc around (use 6 skipped sts + 4 chain + 2 increases).
  • Rnds 1–3: sc around (12).
  • Rnd 4: sl st loosely around to mimic sleeve hem; fo.

Collar (white)

  1. Join at center back of neckline; sc evenly around neck (≈40).
  2. Row 2: ch 1, turn; sc across.
  3. Row 3: ch 1, turn; work (hdc, dc, hdc) across the front half only to create a soft pointed collar; straight sc across the back half. Fo.
    Buttons: With white, add two French-knot dots at center front.

Charcoal Delivery Shorts (3.25 mm)

  1. Ch 56; join (56).
  2. Rnd 1: sc around (56).
  3. Rnd 2: (BLO sc 6, dec)×7 (49).
  4. Rnd 3: sc around (49).
  5. Split: sc 24, ch 2, sk 1, join to start for first leg (25).

Shoes & Helmet

Lace Sneakers (built on the feet)

Toe cap + sole line (white)

  • Surface sl st around rnd 3 for the sole.
  • Starting at center toe (foot rnd 6), embroider a curved toe cap line with surface sl sts.

Uppers (red & gray)

  1. Join red at outer side of foot rnd 7; sc across 10 sts over toe (10).
  2. Turn; sc 10.
  3. Turn; dec, sc 6, dec (8).
  4. Turn; sc 8; fo.
    Tongue (gray): ch 5; sc 4 for 3 rows; sew under upper.
    Laces (white): ch 28; thread as “X” and tie bow. Repeat for other shoe.

Delivery Helmet (red + cream stripe; 3.0 mm)

Helmet sits low with ear cut-outs.

Backpack & Pizza

Square Pizza Backpack (red; trim dark gray)

Panels (make 2)

  1. With red, ch 18; Row 1: sc 17.
    2–17. sc rows to make a square panel; fo each.

Gusset/Side Strip

  • Ch 58; sc 57 for 4 rows; fo.

Assembly

  • Whip stitch gusset around one panel, then the other, forming a cube.
  • Flap: ch 18; sc 17 for 6 rows; taper corners with a dec at each end on last row; sew to top back.
  • Edge trim: surface sl st in dark gray along edges.
  • Straps: ch 32 twice; sl st back; sew top back to upper corners and bottoms 1″ from base.
  • “PIZZA” patch: with cream, duplicate-stitch block letters on the left side of box.
    (Optionally add a snap/magnet to flap.)

Pepperoni Pizza (removable, with cut lines)

Crust (mustard)

Pepperoni (make 6, brick red)

  • MR 6 hdc, join, fo. Sew in a ring pattern like the photo.

Basil specks (green)

  • Tiny scatter stitches across cheese.

Slice lines: With brown or darker yellow, surface-stitch 6 radiating lines to suggest sliced wedges.

Phone with Handlebar Mount (black/gray)

Phone

  1. With dark gray, ch 8; sc 7 for 5 rows; border with black sl sts.
    Mount
  • Ch 10 black; sl st back for a firm strip.
  • Add “claws”: at each end (ch 2, sl st back) twice.
    Stitch phone to mount at a slight angle; place by the pup or in the paw.

Squeeze Bottle (yellow + red cap)

  5. Switch to red; (sc, ch 2) around for a little nozzle; fo. Stuff lightly.

Tip Cash (olive)

  • Ch 7; sc back (6) for 3 rows; embroider a small “$” or line. Fold and place in the pup’s left fist.

Counter Sign “30 MIN OR LESS”

Board

  1. With cream, ch 14; sc 13 for 6 rows.
  2. Border in sc; fo.
    Letters: Duplicate-stitch with black in two/three lines: 30 MIN / OR / LESS.
    Optional: make a simple stand by folding a small triangle of crochet and stitching to back.

Final Assembly & Dressing

  1. Dress the shorts first, then the polo. Adjust sleeve hems.
  2. Put on helmet; align stripe center; ensure ear openings sit around the floppy ears.
  3. Tie sneaker bows neatly.
  4. Fit backpack straps; the box should sit square behind the head.
  5. Place the pizza in the left hand (tack with a hidden stitch).
  6. Arrange phone+mount, squeeze bottle, tip cash, and sign on the table for display—or secure to paws with a couple of stitches if the toy will be handled.

Finishing & Customization

  • Helmet fit: If snug, add 1 more sc round before the BLO rim; if loose, insert a thin elastic thread around the rim.
  • Backpack realism: Add a narrow gray band across the flap front for a “reflective” strip via surface sl sts.
  • Polo buttons: Replace knots with 4-mm beads (not for small children).
  • Sneaker details: Surface stitch a thin line around the sole as “foxing”; add a tiny label on tongue.
  • Pizza variations: Swap pepperoni for mushrooms/olives; keep the slice lines to maintain the same scene look.
  • Safety: Omit wire in phone mount for kids; embroider eyes for under-3s.
