The “Pastel Gamer Girl” Van – Free Crochet Pattern

Level up your crochet skills with the ultimate mobile battlestation! The “Pastel Gamer Girl” Van is a kawaii dream on wheels, designed for the streamer who loves cozy vibes and cute aesthetics. The exterior is a sweet Bubblegum Pink with textured vertical siding, accented with Lavender trim and topped with adorable cat ears on the roof. It’s a caravan that screams “UwU” from every angle.

The interior is a maximalist gamer’s paradise. It features a custom L-shaped lavender desk equipped with a dual-screen PC setup, a rainbow mechanical keyboard, and a professional pink racing-style gaming chair. The back wall is lined with shelves displaying an impressive collection of “plushies” (miniature amigurumi) including a yellow electric mouse, space crewmates, and anime characters. With a wall-mounted controller, hanging headphones, and LED fairy lights stringing the ceiling, this is the coziest room you will ever crochet.

This is a highly detailed structural project. To create the sharp, boxy shape of the van and the crisp lines of the furniture, we strictly use the “3-Layer Sandwich Method” (Yarn – Plastic Canvas – Yarn). This ensures the walls are rigid enough to hold the heavy shelving unit and the roof stays flat. We will use a standard hook for the shell and a micro-hook for the tiny tech accessories and plushies.

Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Part 1: The Gamer Van Structure (Sandwich Method)

Use Hook Size: 2.5mm

1. The Carpeted Floor

Make 2 identical panels.

  1. Center: White/Cream. MR 6 sc, Inc to 12… Inc to a small circle rug shape.
  2. Surround: Switch to Lavender. Work in rows around the rug or simply crochet a rectangular Lavender panel and sew the rug on top later. Let’s make the base panel Lavender.
  3. Base Pattern: Ch 26. Sc across for 40 rows (Rectangle approx 4″ x 6.5″).
  4. Sandwich: Cut plastic canvas. Sandwich between two Lavender panels. Sc around the perimeter to seal.

2. The Pink Textured Shell (U-Shaped)

This forms the Left Wall, Roof, and Right Wall. To get the vertical ridge texture seen in the photo, we will work sideways.

Panel A: Exterior (Pink)

  • Row 1: Ch 36 (Height of the wall). Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across.
  • Row 2-90: Work Hdc in BLO (Back Loop Only) for every row. This creates the vertical ribbed texture that runs along the length of the van. The length should cover Left Side + Roof + Right Side.
  • Window Cutouts: You will need to bind off and cast on chains to create gaps for the windows as you work your rows across the side wall sections.

Panel B: Interior (Pink or White)

  • Use White or Light Pink yarn. Work in standard Sc (no ridges) to keep the interior smooth for mounting shelves. Match dimensions and window gaps.

Assembly:

  • Cut plastic canvas strip (with window holes).
  • Sandwich canvas between Panel A and Panel B.
  • Join: Sc around the perimeter using Lavender yarn to create the trim.
  • Shape: Bend into a U-shape arch. Sew the bottom edges to the Floor Base.
  • Back Wall: Make a solid Pink sandwich panel to close the back.

3. Roof Details

  • Cat Ears (Make 2): Pink. Ch 10. Sc, Hdc, Dc, Tr, Dc, Hdc, Sc (Triangle shape). Make 2 triangles per ear, sandwich a triangle of canvas, sew together. Sew to the front top of the roof.
  • Roof Vent: Lavender square (Ch 8, Sc 8 rows). Sew to top center.

    • Secure the L-Desk and Shelves first.
    • Place the PC, Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse.
    • Position the Chair facing the desk.
    • Fill the shelves with your micro-plushies.
  3. Exterior Finishing:
    • Ensure the Cat Ears are upright.
    • Check the wheel alignment.
    • Add a tiny “Stream Starting Soon” sign on the door if desired!
