The Love Letter Puppy – Free Crochet Pattern

Welcome to a world of romance and vintage charm with “The Love Letter Puppy.” This nostalgic amigurumi character captures the sweetness of old-fashioned correspondence and the excitement of receiving a handwritten note. With a classic postman-inspired look softened by romantic hues, this puppy is ready to deliver love to your doorstep.

This adorable puppy features a coat of soft beige fur with a distinctive dark brown patch over one eye and matching floppy ears. The outfit is a perfect blend of professional and sweet: a Pale Pink dress with a crisp white Peter Pan collar, layered under a sophisticated Grey and Pink Argyle sweater vest. To complete the look, the puppy wears a light grey Postman’s Cap and smart brown Oxford shoes over white socks. Accessories include a leather-style brown satchel overflowing with love letters, a single envelope held in hand sealed with a red heart, and a faithful white Dove companion to help carry messages across the sky. This pattern is designed for intermediate crocheters who enjoy detailed outfit construction and miniature accessories.

Construction Overview

The puppy is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the shoes and socks, then joined to form the body. The head is crocheted with a color change for the eye patch. The dress is the base layer, with the argyle vest worn over it. The Peter Pan collar is attached to the neck. The hat is a separate accessory. The satchel, envelopes, and dove are detailed miniatures.
