This sophisticated piglet features a lovely peach-pink complexion and a poised posture. She is dressed for a gala performance in a magnificent “Black Tie” evening gown made of jet-black yarn, radiating luxury and grace. The dress is accentuated by a pristine white collar embellished with tiny pearl beads, adding a touch of timeless class. Perched atop her head is a deep red velvet-style bow, providing a striking contrast to her dark attire. She stands confidently in shiny black dress shoes. No soloist is complete without her instrument; she holds a miniature handcrafted violin with a delicate bow and carries a custom-fitted violin case. Accompanying her is her biggest fan, a small yellow Canary who loves to chirp along to the melody. This pattern is designed for intermediate to advanced crocheters who enjoy creating detailed costumes and miniature props.

Gauge & Finished Size
Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the pig body so the fiberfill stuffing does not show through the stitches. Using DK weight yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished pig stands approximately 26–28 cm (10–11 inches) tall. The gown is designed to be removable, but the shoes can be sewn on for stability if preferred.
Construction Overview
The pig is constructed in several pieces. The head is a classic sphere with a sewn-on snout that gives the pig its characteristic profile. The ears are folded triangles. The body is formed by joining the legs together, creating a seamless and sturdy base. The elegant gown is crocheted separately, featuring a fitted bodice and a flowing skirt. The violin is a complex miniature constructed of multiple small parts to mimic the real instrument’s shape. The canary is a tiny, single-piece amigurumi.
