The Bluebell Rabbit – Free Crochet Pattern

This cream-colored rabbit features tall, upright ears and a sweet, inquisitive expression. She is dressed in a romantic Periwinkle Blue dress that mimics the vibrant hue of the bluebell flower, complete with a hemline that ripples like petals. To protect against the cool shade of the trees, she wears a delicate ivory lace capelet draped softly over her shoulders. Her connection to nature is crowned with a wreath of tiny bluebells and leaves atop her head. She explores the woods in lilac shoes, carrying a drawstring bag embroidered with a forest scene and a butterfly net for gently observing nature. A quiet grey moth accompanies her, resting peacefully on her dress. This pattern is perfect for those who love nature-inspired designs and intricate accessories.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the rabbit body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished rabbit stands approximately 28–30 cm (11–12 inches) tall (including ears). The clothing is designed to be removable for dress-up play.

Construction Overview

The rabbit is constructed in pieces. The head is round, and the ears are long and upright. The body is pear-shaped and sturdy. The dress is the main garment, worked with a fitted bodice and a skirt that widens with a wave pattern. The capelet is worked in a delicate openwork stitch. The accessories—the bag, the net, and the moth—are detailed miniatures.
