The Herbalist Sheep – Free Crochet Pattern

This character features a soft beige face and a coat of creamy white wool, textured with bobble stitches to make her extra huggable. She is dressed in a soothing Sage Green pinafore dress layered over an ivory puff-sleeve blouse. Her connection to the earth is shown in her accessories: a flower crown woven from leaves and tiny wild daisies, earthy sandals, and a rustic drawstring pouch for collecting seeds. In her hand, she carries a fresh cluster of red mushrooms, and a lucky little ladybug has hitched a ride on her shoulder. This pattern is designed for intermediate crocheters who enjoy working with texture and detailed accessories.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the sheep body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished sheep stands approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall. The pinafore and accessories are removable.

Construction Overview

The sheep is constructed in pieces. The head starts with a smooth beige face and transitions to a textured “woolly” scalp using bobble stitches. The body also utilizes texture. The ivory puff sleeves are integrated into the arm pattern to reduce bulk. The pinafore is a separate piece. Accessories are detailed miniatures.
