The Berry Baker Bear – Free Crochet Pattern

She is dressed in a delightful country-style outfit, ready to whip up a delicious treat. Her dress features a classic red and white gingham (checkered) pattern, evoking memories of vintage picnic blankets. To keep her dress clean, she wears a crisp white half-apron tied at the waist, finished with a delicate lace border. Her head is adorned with a matching red and white checkered kerchief tied in a bow. She stands in sturdy dark brown flat shoes. Her baking accessories are perfection: a miniature oven mitt hanging by her side and a freshly baked fruit pie with a lattice crust held in her paws. She is accompanied by a tiny, hopeful mouse assistant wearing a tall chef’s hat, eagerly waiting for a crumb. This pattern is perfect for intermediate crocheters who love colorwork and miniature food details.

Construction Overview

The bear is constructed in pieces (head, body/legs joined, arms). The dress uses color changes to simulate a gingham check pattern. The apron is a separate piece tied at the waist. The pie is constructed in layers (pan, filling, lattice). The mouse is a tiny separate amigurumi.
