Welcome to the cozy, creative corner of “The Quilter Rabbit.” Inspired by the heartwarming tradition of quilting found in country homes across America and Australia, this amigurumi character celebrates the art of piecing together memories. With her basket of scraps and needle in hand, she stitches love into every square.
This gentle rabbit features soft, heather-grey fur and long, floppy ears that frame a face full of concentration and kindness. Her outfit is a tribute to her craft: a spectacular floor-length dress constructed from miniature crochet Granny Squares in a palette of soft pastels—baby blue, pale pink, mint green, and butter yellow. Underneath her colorful pinafore, she wears a crisp white shirt with a modest collar. To keep her ears tidy while she works, she wears a vintage-style bonnet tied with a ribbon. Her feet are kept warm in cozy cream-colored slippers. She is never seen without her tools: a large tote bag filled with fabric scraps (represented by colorful yarn ends or fabric pieces), a red heart-shaped pin cushion held firmly in her paw, and a wooden spool of thread nearby. This pattern is a wonderful project for those who love combining amigurumi with traditional crochet motifs.
Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Gauge & Finished Size
Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the rabbit body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished rabbit stands approximately 30 cm (12 inches) tall. The dress size will depend on the tension of your granny squares.
Construction Overview
The rabbit is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the cream slippers, and are joined to form the body. The head is round with a sewn-on snout and long, floppy ears. The dress is the main feature; you will crochet several miniature granny squares and join them to form the skirt, then crochet the bodice upwards from the skirt waist. The shirt collar is a separate attachment. The bonnet, bag, pin cushion, and spool are separate accessories.
