The Chocolatier Bear – Free Crochet Pattern

Our lovely bear features a soft “Cafe au Lait” or Milk Coffee colored fur, giving her a warm and gentle appearance. She is dressed for a day of crafting artisan treats in a rich Dark Chocolate Brown dress, accented with luxurious Gold trim at the collar and sleeves, symbolizing the high quality of her creations. To keep her dress tidy while tempering chocolate, she wears a delightful Strawberry Pink half-apron featuring a charming ruffled hem.

Her look is topped with a chic brown beret, adorned with a single pearl bead that resembles a sugar garnish. She steps around her shop in shimmering gold flats. In her paws, she holds a heart-shaped gift box and a signature chocolate truffle. But the real surprise is her tiny assistant: a hardworking Ant wearing a miniature white chef’s hat, proving that great talent comes in small packages. This pattern is perfect for intermediate crocheters who appreciate storytelling and detailed accessories.

Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the bear body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished bear stands approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable, adding play value and the option to change outfits.

Construction Overview

The bear is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the gold shoes, and are joined to form the body. The head is round with a sewn-on muzzle. The dress is a separate garment worked from the neck down. The apron is a separate piece tied at the waist. The accessories—the heart box, truffle, and the ant companion—are detailed miniatures.
