This lovely piglet features a soft peach or blush pink complexion, giving her a warm and gentle appearance. She is costumed for her big performance in a traditional ballet ensemble. Her outfit consists of a fitted pale pink bodice adorned with tiny embroidered roses, transitioning into a spectacular white Tutu. To achieve the airy, ethereal look of a stage costume, the skirt is crocheted using a mesh stitch or fine yarn to mimic layers of tulle. On her head, she wears a delicate silver tiara, signifying her role as the “Prima” dancer.
Her feet are snug in pink ballet slippers with ribbons that lace gracefully up her ankles. She holds a bouquet of roses thrown by her adoring fans and carries a small drawstring bag for her accessories. Accompanying her is a serene white Swan, her partner in the dance and a symbol of grace. This pattern is perfect for intermediate crocheters who enjoy creating detailed costumes and character-driven pieces.

Gauge & Finished Size
Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the pig body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished pig stands approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall. The bodice is integrated into the body, but the skirt is added on. The accessories are removable.
Construction Overview
The pig is constructed in pieces. The legs are made first, starting with the shoes, and joined to form the body. The color changes from shoes to skin to the bodice are integral to the design. The voluminous tutu is crocheted directly onto the body using front loops left during the body construction. The head is round with a sewn-on snout. The swan is a separate miniature figure.
