The High Tea Piggy – Free Crochet Pattern

This exquisite piglet is dressed to impress in a refreshing pastel palette. She wears a stunning Mint Green dress featuring multiple tiers of ruffles that cascade beautifully, mimicking the layers of a fancy pastry. To cover her shoulders, she dons a crisp, snow-white bolero jacket that adds a touch of modesty and style. Her headwear is a showstopper: a dainty fascinator hat perched to one side, adorned with cheerful white daisies. She steps out in mint green kitten heels to match her gown. Her accessories are just as refined: she carries a pearl-textured clutch bag, holds a delicate miniature teacup with a matching saucer, and is accompanied by a tiny cupcake topped with pink frosting. This pattern is designed for intermediate crocheters who appreciate detailed wardrobe construction and miniature food items.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the pig body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished pig stands approximately 26–28 cm (10–11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable, allowing for interactive play.

Construction Overview

The pig is constructed in pieces. The head is round with a distinct flat snout attached to the front. The body is pear-shaped, formed by joining the legs. The dress is the most detailed garment, worked with a bodice and a skirt that utilizes Back Loops Only (BLO) to create foundations for multiple layers of ruffles. The bolero is a simple, short jacket. The accessories (teacup, clutch, cupcake) are miniatures requiring fine detail work.
