The Vintage Rose Rabbit – Free Crochet Pattern

She is dressed in a wardrobe full of intricate details and soft, earthy colors. Her centerpiece is a flowing sage green dress featuring a beautiful shell-stitch skirt that mimics the layers of a flower. To keep off the evening chill, she wears a cropped, dusty pink cardigan fastened with a tiny wooden button. Framing her sweet face is a vintage-style bonnet with delicate white lace trim. She walks through the garden in sturdy earthy brown Mary Jane shoes. Her accessories are just as delightful: a beige mesh tote bag filled with miniature rambler roses and a tiny, curious snail friend with a peach-colored shell hitching a ride. This pattern is perfect for those who love romantic, vintage aesthetics and detailed miniature clothing.

Gauge & Finished Size

Work tightly in continuous spiral rounds for the rabbit body so the stuffing does not show. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, the finished rabbit stands approximately 28 cm (11 inches) tall. The clothing is designed to be removable, adding an element of play and customization.

Construction Overview

The rabbit is constructed in pieces. The head is round with a slightly defined muzzle area. The ears are long and sewn lower on the head to create a relaxed, vintage look. The body and legs are worked in one piece (joined legs). The outfit is multilayered: the dress is worked from the waist up and down, utilizing shell stitches for the skirt volume. The cardigan is worked flat in rows. The bonnet is shaped to fit over the ears.
