Gauge & Finished Size

  • Approx. 30 sts x 40 rows = 4 in (10 cm) in stockinette in the round.
  • Finished bunny height: about 9 in (23 cm) standing, without hat.

A firm gauge keeps the stitches crisp and the stuffing invisible.

Notes & Construction Overview

  • The bunny is worked from the feet up in one piece: legs → body → neck → head.
  • Arms, ears, tail, clothes, hat, tote, bouquet, flower cart, and flowers are knit separately and sewn on.
  • Stuff firmly but evenly, shaping the head into a smooth, slightly oval ball and the body into a gentle cylinder.
  • Color names in the instructions refer to the palette listed in Materials.

Cart Flowers & Sign

Stems & Leaves

With green, CO 5 sts for each cluster, work 4 rows in garter and BO. Fold into a U-shape and sew to the inside of the cart so loops peek above the rim.

Round Flowers

For each blossom (blue, pink, or white):

CO 5 sts.
Row 1: k all.
Row 2: k2tog, k1, k2tog (3 sts).
Row 3: k3tog.

Roll into a ball and secure. Sew several onto the tops of stems, crowding them for a full look.

“Flowers 5¢” Sign

Cut a small rectangle of dark felt or thick card for the chalkboard area and write “Flowers 5¢” with a white gel pen or paint. Knit a tiny brown stick (CO 3 sts, work 6 rows garter, BO) and glue or sew the board onto it. Attach the sign to the back corner of the cart, as in the photo.

Assembly

  1. Attach Ears – Pin ears to the sides of the head, slightly below the top center so they peek from under the hat brim. Sew securely.
  2. Attach Arms – Position arms at shoulder level, cream sleeves pointing downward and paws facing slightly forward. Sew the flat tops firmly to the body.
  3. Attach Tail – Sew the small tail to the back of the body near the bottom.
  4. Dress & Sweater – Put the cream sweater on first, then slide on the mint pinafore from the feet up. Button or stitch the straps at the back shoulders.
  5. Shoes – Place shoes on the feet and sew a few stitches through soles to keep them in position.
  6. Hat – Set the straw hat on the head at a gentle angle. You can secure it with a few hidden stitches if you want it permanent.
  7. Tote & Cart – Slip the tote strap over one shoulder so the bag rests at the side, with flowers facing forward. Position the flower cart next to the bunny; you can stitch one paw lightly to the handle so it looks like she is pushing it.

Finishing Touches

Weave in all loose ends neatly inside pieces. Gently adjust stuffing so the bunny stands straight and the head sits smoothly on the neck. Lightly steam-block the dress hem and hat brim if needed to relax any curling, avoiding direct heat on safety eyes.

Your Flower Cart Florist Bunny is now ready to set up her little stand in the garden, with her mint dress, straw hat, tote of blossoms, and tiny cart of “Flowers 5¢” – a detailed, pastel knit friend that matches the photo and brings a touch of spring to any room.
