Meet the Easter Garden Lamb – a soft cream lamb with a textured woolly head, pastel blue top, sunny yellow polka-dot skirt, pink Mary Jane shoes with cream socks, a little crossbody mesh bag, a striped Easter egg, and a tiny basket with a carrot.

Materials
- Worsted weight yarn (category 4) in:
- Cream / off-white (head, body, arms, legs, wool cap, socks)
- Light pink (inner ears & limbs if you want contrast, cheeks blush, shoes)
- Pastel aqua/blue (shirt)
- Soft yellow (skirt)
- White (polka dots on skirt, egg stripe details)
- Light purple/lilac (bow and egg)
- Soft mint/green (egg stripe and carrot leaves)
- Light tan/brown (basket, bag, carrot base)
- Orange (carrot body)
- Dark brown or black (mouth embroidery)
- Crochet hook 2.75–3.0 mm (or size that gives tight stitches)
- 8 mm black safety eyes (2 pcs)
- Polyester fiberfill stuffing

Gauge & Finished Size
Gauge is not critical, but stitches should be tight so stuffing doesn’t show. As a guide: about 18–20 sc over 4 in (10 cm) with 3.0 mm hook.
Finished lamb stands approximately 8–9 in (20–23 cm) including head.
General Notes
- Stuff as you go, shaping the head round and the body gently tapered.
- The clothes and accessories are designed specifically for this lamb’s proportions; changing yarn weight may require adjustments.
- Face is embroidered after attaching the head to the body, with a soft smile and small triangular nose.
Construction Overview
- Crochet legs, join them and work the body upward.
- Crochet head, ears, and a separate wool cap.
- Add arms and sew all pieces together.
- Make the dress (blue top + yellow skirt with white dots).
- Make shoes, head bow, crossbody mesh bag, Easter egg, and basket with carrot.
- Assemble, embroider the face, and style.
Lamb Body
Use cream yarn for all main body parts.

Tiny Tail

Wool Cap (Textured Top of Head)
This separate piece creates the bobbly wool look on top of the lamb’s head.
Use cream yarn.

Rnd 5: [puff stitch, sc] repeat around for texture.
(For puff: yarn over, insert hook, pull up loop 3 times, yarn over, pull through all loops, ch 1 to secure.) Aim for 12 puffs with sc between each.

FO leaving a long tail. This cap covers the back and top of the head, leaving face smooth.
Assembly: Body & Head
- Position wool cap on top of head so the front edge sits just above the eyes, like a fluffy fringe. Sew edge neatly all around, shaping cap so it follows the head curve.
- Sew ears to sides of head, slightly below the wool cap edge, letting them angle downward a bit.
- Sew head to body using long tail from body; add extra stuffing to neck while sewing so it stands firmly.
- Sew arms to sides of body at shoulder height.
- Attach tail centered on back near bottom.
Embroider the face now:
- With dark brown or black yarn, embroider a small upside-down “Y” nose about 1–2 sts long between eyes, then a soft curved mouth.
- Add a couple of tiny pink stitches on cheeks for blush if desired.
Dress (Blue Top & Yellow Skirt)
Dress is removable and worked top down.
Blue Top
Use pastel aqua/blue.
Row 1: ch 28, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (27).
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc across (27).
Bring short ends together to form a ring (this is the neckline). Either sl st to join or leave opening for a small button; if leaving opening, you will work in rows with a small overlap. Instructions assume you join and work in rounds.

Separate for armholes:

Yellow Skirt with White Dots
Attach yellow yarn at any stitch of the last round of the blue top.

Rnd 7: Join white yarn to create polka dot bumps. Work (sc in next 3 sts, bobble in next st) around. For bobble: 4 dc in same st, leaving last loop of each on hook, yarn over and pull through all loops, then sc in next st. Adjust spacing so about 10–12 dots appear over skirt. If needed, replace a bobble with a simple sc to maintain stitch count.
Rnd 8: With yellow again, sc around (42).
Hem Ruffle
Rnd 9: (sc, ch 1, sc in same st) repeat in each st around for a simple scallop. FO and weave in ends.
Shoes (Mary Janes)
Use pink for shoes and cream for sock area on top of foot (already part of leg).
If you prefer separate shoes, you can make them removable and slip over the legs; here they are designed onto the legs already. To define them more, add a strap and edging.
With pink, attach yarn at side of ankle:
Row 1 (strap): ch 8, sl st to opposite side of ankle to form strap. FO and weave ends.
To emphasize the sock opening, surface stitch a row of cream around the ankle just above the shoe.
Head Bow
Use lilac/purple.
Row 1: ch 9, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and across (8)
Rows 2–3: ch 1, turn, hdc across (8)
FO leaving long tail. Wrap tail tightly around center several times to form bow shape and secure. Sew bow to one side of wool cap, just above ear.
Crossbody Mesh Bag
Use light tan/brown.
Base
Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc (6)

Sides (mesh)
Rnd 4: ch 2, skip 1 st, sc in next st repeat around. Adjust last repeat to end evenly.
Rnd 5: ch 2, sc in next ch-2 space repeat around.

Rnd 7: sc in each st and ch space around to tighten top edge. FO.
Strap
With same yarn, ch a length long enough to act as a crossbody strap (about 55–65 ch depending on your yarn and doll). FO. Sew each end to opposite sides of bag’s top edge. Bag should hang from lamb’s shoulder to opposite hip.
Easter Egg
Use lilac and mint (plus white stripe).
Start with lilac.

Basket
Use tan/brown.

Handle
Attach yarn to one side of rim, ch 14 (or length desired), sl st to opposite side of rim. Work sc back along the chain for a thicker handle if you like. FO and weave in.
Carrot
Use orange.

FO and close opening slightly but leave a small gap at top for leaves.
Leaves
With green, ch 5, sl st back along chain; repeat 2–3 times into same top spot to create multiple little leaves. FO and weave tail down into carrot. Place carrot inside basket.
Final Assembly & Styling
- Dress the lamb: slide blue top over the head and arms, then pull yellow skirt down over body so waist sits at narrowest part of torso. If you kept a back opening, sew a small button or snap, or simply stitch closed on the doll.
- Adjust the hem so it sits just above the shoe straps, matching the photo’s proportions.
- Put crossbody bag over one shoulder, letting it rest across the chest and hip.
- Stand the lamb on grass or a wooden surface, place the Easter egg at one side of her feet and the basket with carrot on the other.
- Tilt the head slightly and smooth the wool cap and bow for an inquisitive, sweet expression.
