Please note: I strive for accuracy in every pattern, but occasional errors can happen. Thank you for understanding and for enjoying my designs.

Abbreviations (US Terms)

  • MR – magic ring
  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • dc – double crochet
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • inc – increase (2 sc in same stitch)
  • dec – invisible decrease (sc 2 sts together through front loops only)
  • BLO – back loop only
  • FLO – front loop only
  • st(s) – stitch(es)
  • rep – repeat
  • R – round/row

All parts are worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated. Use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.

Materials

  • Sport or light DK weight yarn in:
    1. Cream (lamb body, ears, cardigan, chef hat, cupcake bases)
    2. Soft pink (dress, shoes, cupcake frosting, blush details)
    3. White (clouds on dress, cupcake frosting highlights)
    4. Light blue (cupcake wrappers, piping bag tip)
    5. Beige or light tan (shoe soles, cupcake cake part)
    6. Small amount of black or dark brown (face embroidery if not using safety eyes, mouth detail)
  • Pair of 8–9 mm black safety eyes
  • Crochet hook 2.5–3.0 mm (or size for tight fabric)
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch markers and scissors

Optional: blush or soft pastel for cheeks.

Gauge & Finished Size

  • Approx. 8–9 sc per 1″ (2.5 cm) in the round.
  • With suggested yarn and hook, Cloudy Bakery Lamb is about 9–10″ (23–25 cm) tall including chef hat.

Gauge does not need to be exact, but stitches must be tight so stuffing does not show.

Construction Overview

The lamb is crocheted in pieces: legs, body, arms, head, ears, and tail, then sewn together. The “wool” texture is suggested with simple stitches and soft yarn. Clothing and accessories are removable: pink cloud dress, cream cardigan, chef hat, pink Mary Jane shoes, piping bag, and three cupcakes.

Stuff as you work and shape each part to stay round and plump.

Lamb Body

Legs (make 2)

Using cream:

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: (sc, inc) rep around (18)
R4: (2 sc, inc) rep around (24)
R5: BLO sc around (24) – defines edge of hoof
R6–8: sc around (24)
R9: (4 sc, dec) rep 4 times (20)
R10: (3 sc, dec) rep 4 times (16)
R11–18: sc around (16)

Fasten off first leg and weave in tail.
Leave second leg attached for joining.

Stuff legs firmly, keeping the bottoms flat so the lamb stands well.

Join Legs & Crochet Body

With cream still attached to second leg:

R1 (join): ch 4, attach to first leg with a sc in any st, sc in next 15 sts around first leg (16 sts total on first leg), sc in each of 4 ch, then 16 sc around second leg (40 sts). Place marker.

R2–4: sc around (40)
R5: (8 sc, dec) rep 4 times (36)
R6–7: sc around (36)
R8: (7 sc, dec) rep 4 times (32)
R9–10: sc around (32)
R11: (6 sc, dec) rep 4 times (28)
R12–13: sc around (28)
R14: (5 sc, dec) rep 4 times (24)
R15: sc around (24)
R16: (4 sc, dec) rep 4 times (20)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing the head later.
Stuff body firmly, shaping a soft cylinder with gentle curves at the top and bottom.

Arms (make 2)

Using cream:

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: (3 sc, inc) rep 3 times (15)
R4: sc around (15)
R5: (3 sc, dec) rep 3 times (12)
R6: BLO sc around (12) – subtle cuff
R7–16: sc around (12)

Stuff lightly from hoof to mid-arm, keeping the upper arm softer so it bends.

Flatten the opening and sc through both layers (6 sts) to close.
Fasten off, leaving tails for sewing.

Head

Using cream:

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: (sc, inc) rep around (18)
R4: (2 sc, inc) rep around (24)
R5: (3 sc, inc) rep around (30)
R6: (4 sc, inc) rep around (36)
R7–11: sc around (36)

Place safety eyes between R9 and R10, about 7–8 sts apart.

Begin stuffing the head firmly.

R12: (4 sc, dec) rep around (30)
R13: (3 sc, dec) rep around (24)
R14: (2 sc, dec) rep around (18)
R15: (sc, dec) rep around (12)
R16: dec around (6)

Fasten off and close. Shape into a soft ball.

With pink yarn, embroider a tiny upside-down V nose and a simple smiling mouth. Add a little blush on the cheeks if you like.

Ears (make 2)

Using cream:

R1: 5 sc in MR (5)
R2: (sc, inc) rep around (8)
R3: (3 sc, inc) rep twice (10)
R4: (4 sc, inc) rep twice (12)
R5–8: sc around (12)
R9: (4 sc, dec) rep twice (10)

Fasten off, leaving long tail.
Flatten ears slightly and curve them downward at the base to match the floppy look.

Tail

Using cream:

R1: 5 sc in MR (5)
R2–5: sc around (5)

Fasten off with tail for sewing. You can lightly stuff or leave it soft.

Assembly: Lamb Base

  1. Attach head to body:
Place the head on top of the body, centered. Sew around using the long tail from the body, working slowly and tightening as you go.
  2. Attach arms:
Position arms slightly below the neck, angled a bit forward. Sew through the closed top of each arm and the body.
  3. Attach ears:
Sew ears on each side of the head about 3–4 rounds down from the crown, tilted slightly outward and downward.
  4. Attach tail:
Sew tail to the back of the body, centered near the bottom.

Set the lamb aside and work on the baker outfit and accessories.

Pink Cloud Dress

This dress has a simple sleeveless bodice and a flared skirt in soft pink, decorated with white clouds.

Bodice

Using soft pink:

Ch 32.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (31).
Rows 2–4: ch 1, turn, sc across (31).

Bring short ends together, sew or sl st to form a ring. This ring will sit around the lamb’s chest.

Turn so seam is center back.

Skirt

Working into one edge of the bodice ring:

R1: ch 1, sc 31 evenly around, join with sl st (31)
R2: (4 sc, inc) rep 6 times plus 1 extra sc at end (37)
R3: (5 sc, inc) rep 6 times plus 1 extra sc (43)
R4: (6 sc, inc) rep 6 times plus 1 extra sc (49)
R5–8: sc around (49)

If you want a bit more length, add 1–2 rows of sc.

Scalloped Hem

Still with pink:

R9: skip 1 st, 5 dc in next st, skip 1 st, sl st in next st; rep around. Adjust at the end if needed so scallops line up neatly. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Cloud Motifs

Using white, embroider small rounded cloud shapes across the skirt and a few on the bodice.

For each cloud, work a cluster of small chain loops and slip stitches, or simply satin-stitch a fluffy oval. Space them evenly, keeping them about the same size as in the reference image.

Slide dress onto lamb from feet up; bodice should sit at the base of the neck.

Cream Cardigan

Cardigan is open-front, hip length, with long sleeves.

Using cream:

Ch 32.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (31).
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc across (31).
Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc across (31).

This is the yoke/upper back.

Shape Arm Openings & Body

Row 4:

  • sc 7 (right front),
  • ch 3, skip 5 (right armhole),
  • sc 9 (back),
  • ch 3, skip 5 (left armhole),
  • sc 7 (left front). (29 sts + 6 ch)

Rows 5–9: ch 1, turn, sc in each st and each ch across (29).

Fasten off. This forms the open-front body of the cardigan.

Sleeves (make 2)

Attach cream yarn at underarm (center of the ch-3 space).

R1: Work 12 sc evenly around armhole, join with sl st (12).
R2–6: sc around (12)

Fasten off and weave in ends. Sleeves should reach just past the lamb’s wrists.

The cardigan should fit loosely over the dress, with the front edges hanging open.

Chef Hat

The hat has a snug ribbed band and a puffy top.

Hat Band

Using cream:

Ch 6.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (5).
Rows 2–40: ch 1, turn, sc in BLO across (5).

Bring short ends together and sew to form a ring. This creates a stretchy band.

Top of Hat

With cream, work into one edge of the band:

R1: sc 40 evenly around, join with sl st (40)
R2: sc around (40)
R3: (4 sc, inc) rep 8 times (48)
R4: (5 sc, inc) rep 8 times (56)
R5: sc around (56)

For a puffed effect, lightly stuff center as you close.

R6: (5 sc, dec) rep 8 times (48)
R7: (4 sc, dec) rep 8 times (40)
R8: (3 sc, dec) rep 8 times (32)
R9: (2 sc, dec) rep 8 times (24)
R10: (sc, dec) rep 8 times (16)
R11: dec around (8)

Fasten off and close.
Gently squash the top into a soft, rounded chef-hat shape.

Place on the lamb’s head; it should sit low on the forehead and cover part of the ears.

Pink Mary Jane Shoes

Shoes are slipped over the existing hooves.

Sole (make 2)

Using beige/tan:

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: (sc, inc) rep around (18)
R4: (2 sc, inc) rep around (24)

Fasten off.

Upper & Strap

Using pink, attach yarn to any stitch on sole edge.

R1: sc around (24)
R2: 8 sc, 4 dec, 8 sc (20)
R3: 7 sc, 3 dec, 7 sc (17)
R4: sc around (17)

Do not fasten off.

Strap: ch 10, skip 3 sts at back of shoe, sl st into next st to form strap.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

Repeat for second shoe.
Slide onto lamb’s feet; the strap goes across the front of the ankle.

Piping Bag

Using cream:

R1: 4 sc in MR (4)
R2: (sc, inc) rep around (6)
R3: (2 sc, inc) rep around (8)
R4: (3 sc, inc) rep around (10)
R5–7: sc around (10)

Stuff lightly.

Switch to light blue for tip:

R8: (3 sc, dec) rep around (8)
R9: sc around (8)
R10: (sc, dec) rep around (6)

Fasten off and close.
You can add a few vertical stitches at the top of the cream section to suggest a twisted bag.
Sew to one hand so the lamb “holds” the piping bag.

Cupcakes (make 3)

Each cupcake has a blue wrapper, beige cake, and pink frosting swirl.

Wrapper

Using light blue:

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: (sc, inc) rep around (18)

R4: BLO sc around (18) – forms base edge
R5–6: sc around (18)

Fasten off.

Cake Top

Using beige:

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: (sc, inc) rep around (18)
R4: sc around (18)

Place cake top inside wrapper and sew edges together, adding stuffing as you go to make a firm cupcake base.

Frosting

Using pink:

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: (sc, inc) rep around (18)
R4: sc around (18)
R5: (2 sc, dec) rep around (14)
R6: (sc, dec) rep around (9)
R7: sc around (9)

Stuff lightly, then sew frosting onto the top of the cupcake.
For extra swirl effect, use a strand of pink or white and wrap around the frosting, tacking in place.

Make three cupcakes and arrange them around the lamb in your display.

Final Assembly & Styling

Dress the lamb in her pink cloud dress and cream cardigan. Put on the pink shoes, then pop the chef hat on her head. Sew or position the piping bag into one hoof so she looks ready to decorate. Scatter the three cupcakes in front of her on a wooden table, kitchen counter, or pastel backdrop.

Your Cloudy Bakery Lamb is now complete—perfect for cozy kitchen photos, nursery décor, or as a sweet gift for any baking lover.
