Finishing & Customization

  • Stripe density: Add or reduce surface stripes to taste while keeping the friendly face open.
  • Polo fit: If your gauge is loose, decrease the foundation by 4; if snug, add 4. Maintain the alternating D/E color rounds for true narrow stripes.
  • Pants length: Add 1–2 rounds before the cuff fold line for longer culottes; keep the turned cuff height the same.
  • Loafer depth: If shoes feel loose, run one round of sc decrease around the upper edge before attaching the vamp band.
  • Beret band: For a tighter fit, work BLO rnd 9 as BLO sc, dec × across to 28–29 sts.
  • Safety: Omit any wire in the stake for young children; embroider eyes if gifting to babies.

Pattern Recap

  • Doll: Sandy-beige tabby with cream muzzle and inner ears, taupe stripes, 9 mm eyes, and a soft tail.
  • Outfit: Mint-striped polo with white collar, olive culottes with cuffs, brown loafers, and a jaunty mint beret.
